"BERT LONGTOOTH AND RAST ARE DEAD. SURRENDER. SURRENDER, IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR LIVES!"
Vol's voice echoed around the valley confirming the Sea Serpent's victory. From a distance, it was hard to tell just what had happened. The rain made the visibility that much worse. They'd seen many odd things. Giant creatures, monsters, or so they assumed. They'd seen a long drawn-out battle, between Vol and two men that they could only assume were Bert and Rast, and then they'd seen those two men fall.
But such a thing didn't make sense. They'd not believed it until the cry rang out. Even then, it was still obvious that the Green Skins held the upper hand by far. One didn't need to be a master strategist to see that.
Then all of a sudden, those same men were surrendering.
"I don't understand…" one of the village men muttered. "Why are they surrendering? There's so many of them…"
"Did you not hear, you fool? Their leaders are dead," responded another.
