"We do have the horses to send a few men on with them…" Harland said. "They could walk there, and ride back. The journey might only be a week and a half then."
"How many men?"
"At least ten, I would think," Harland said. "If they took a carriage… Or actually, why not send all four carriages, Vol? They could return with food, and perhaps firewood, which would prolong our stay here a good deal."
"…Perfect," Vol said, nodding. He could get behind a plan that solved multiple problems at once. He patted Harland on the shoulder. "With that amount of gold, you're about the only one I can trust to send."
"Ahh… But, what of the army?" Harland asked. He seemed to have been in a hurry to agree, but he was conscientious enough of his role of Vice-Commander that he wasn't that quick to leave it.
