"True enough," Northy agreed. "When they're being helpful, it's one thing, but when we have to apologise for somethin' stupid like this, I ain't in a rush."
"You'd rather drag your feet and make your lives that much more difficult?" Penelope asked. "Really?"
"I mean… If that's an option," Vagrin said – even he was in agreement. He'd rather rob and murder his way around the problem than address it.
"You're hopeless! If you can't do it, then I will. I'm not going to stand by and let you kill without reason, or fall headfirst into a trap that you already know is there," Penelope fumed, her hands on her hips. She prepared to storm out of the other side of the lane, in hopes of finding an official.
"I suppose I had better go with you," Harland said. "I think I can at least stomach it."
