Chapter 22 – The Slaver's Market
It took them another three days at their pace before they cleared the Black Mountains and exited back through the forest on the other side. They took the journey at a somewhat leisurely pace, with Vol only speeding up their march at sections of terrain that seemed too difficult to defend.
With it, the men were given the chance that they needed to recover from the gruelling nature of what they'd been through, and little by little, the further away they made it, the more their moods began to improve.
They drove the slaves in front of them, and marvelled at the loot that they'd captured. Three hundred slaves were driven by only a little over a hundred men. It was a miracle, by their eyes. The gradual relieving of pressure, the further away from Stormfront territory they went, allowing the men the time they needed to properly evaluate all that had happened with them.
