"WHAT?" Came Gazz's loud voice, as he managed to detach himself from the thick of combat to steal a glance at Beth. "YOU BASTARD, VOL! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!"
"It wasn't me," Vol said, not needing to raise his voice to be heard above the battle. "This was Nolan's doing."
"Nolan…?" Gazz turned around to look at him. Nolan glanced away for a second, before rounding on him hotly.
"What are you doing, you fool!?" Nolan bellowed. "Have we fought side by side all this time just for you to be drawn in by the words of the enemy..?"
An arrow thudded against Vol's shield, just perfectly placed enough to protect his heart. Of course, the shooter chose to avoid going anywhere near the corpse he had on his shoulder.
"Ah," Vol said, pointing with his axe towards the branches of a tree. That's where you are, Swallow."
