"You're rather useless, aren't you?" Vol said idly.
She flinched, thoroughly stung by the comment. Vol ignored her, as his eyes scanned the path up ahead. He could see the other clearing now, and the end of the path that led into it. He was sure, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that was where Nolan's main surprise would wait for them. The attacks in the woods were merely appetizers, designed to soften them up, so that the trap would catch them fully.
Vol wasn't sure it was the sort of trap that he could meet head-on… He needed to build up some sort of momentum, somewhere, somehow… He wasn't much for strategy ideas, but that didn't mean he couldn't come up with basic measures that might or might not work.
'I might have to sacrifice a few men to beat this bastard…' Vol thought to himself slowly his advanced ever so slightly.
"Harland," he called out. "There's probably a trap up ahead. We're going in from two sides."
