"What are you doing?" Penelope said, hearing him complain at the now considerably clumsier fingers of his left hand. "Let me help. You just need to tie it, right? Like this..?"
She'd grabbed his wrist, and was trying it herself before he could even begin to stop her. "…You're doing it through the wrong hole," Vol said, after a moment of watching her.
"Huh!? Really? I thought this would be simple…" Penelope said.
"Vol," Harland said, pulling open the flap of his tent. "Should I show her? I imagine it would be quicker for all three of us…"
With a motion of his hand, Vol conceded. "Fine. Do it quickly, though. This left hand of mine doesn't seem to want to do anything technical."
"Through like this," Harland explained patiently to Penelope. "You were trying to tie it like it was a shoe. The buckle removes the need for a knot, see?"
"Ohhh!" Penelope said. "Let me try the other one."
