Vol sighed. "If you don't know how to do it, leave it."
"Nope... I've got it… Just… There!" She declared delightedly, when she managed to figure it out and put it in place. She puffed out her chest proudly. "See, perfect! You're a shining knight, now."
"We Yarmdon have no knights," Vol informed her brusquely. "You know what we will do today, do you not? Will you be able to handle it? You cried even for the rabbit that Northy hunted."
"I did…" Penelope said, seeming ashamed. "But only because it was so cute…"
"You mistake me, Penelope. You can act airheaded all you want – I know you understand me. Your acting doesn't push it away," Vol said. "If you can't deal with the evils we will commit, you should flee elsewhere. The Stormfront would take you in, would they not?"
"I won't go," Penelope said firmly, her voice hard, almost fierce. "You can't scare me away, Vol. I think I understand now what I want. If you won't chase me away, I won't leave."
