His words were desperate. The women were already crying. Vol took another step into the room, and the whole lot of them flinched, backing against the wall, the lot of them clustering up together. They had simple spears lying within reaching distance, and the men that could grab them did, though their eyes never left Vol for even a second.
In a brief moment of lucidity, he closed the door behind him, and glanced at the white pelt laid out comfortably in front of the fireplace. No doubt that was a prized possession amongst the owners of the place. They were far from being rich, and yet, perhaps they were richer than he.
