"No, I—" Vol started to refuse, but another bout of sickness in his stomach stopped him. The urge to kill every man there just to feed the summoning requirements of a monster, that urge proved nearly insatiable.
It passed just as quickly as it came, but it was no less alarming for it. Vol didn't doubt that he would have reached for his axe if it had passed for a second or two longer. Even as Borne and Harland continued to speak to him, he hardly seemed able to recognize them as allies.
"…I suppose I'll take you up on that," Vol said, once his voice returned.
"Alright, you leave it all in good hands," Harland assured him. "We know well enough your intents, and we'll do what we can to ensure that the coin you spent on feeding them is coin well spent."
"Thanks," Vol said, his voice weak, as he stood up and freed himself from the table.
