"You're nothing, boy!" Titus declared, in his thick accent. "Nothing without room to wield your hammer!" Sweat was pouring down his wrinkled face, but he still managed the energy for taunts. He knew a feint wasn't the only way to create an opening. A taunt worked just as well.
Vol didn't fall for it. His sense of danger warned him otherwise. This man, when it came to technique, was far Vol's superior. To get an opening to use his warhammer… no, to use his warhammer at all, that seemed almost impossible. Titus was constantly on the front foot, he was able to act several times in the same span of time that it took for Vol to act just once. An axe and shield, and Vol thought that the fight might have gone rather differently… but he didn't have an axe and shield then.
