Harland shot Vol a strained look as though urging him not to say anything, despite the comment. Despite that look, it was Harland who seemed more likely to say something than Vol. Vol merely shrugged, pleased that the man was doing business with him in the end – even if he hadn't let him fully into his shop.
"Here," he said, handing over a weighty amount of coin. His coin pouch was suddenly beginning to feel quite a bit lighter. He wondered if at this rate he had the money to get new clothes. Surely they'd be quite a bit cheaper than the metal work, right?
"A pleasure doing—actually, not exactly, but let us merely conclude with a fact: business has been done. We shall be on our way. Return in five days, and your pieces shall all be waiting for you," the man said, basically shooing them out of the door as he said it. With the final word, the front of the door had already closed with a click.
The three of them sighed collectively.
