"How's it?" Mrs.Flnx peered at me,fully armed with lots of questions. That morning,I had lied about a mysterious illness which climbed into my head once I got to school.I had to be punished for lateness although I had 4 more weeks to graduate.In such a school, punishment was inevitable...it could have been, but for Mrs.Flnx nothing can be easier once you step into the lion's den.
I was enrolled in a strict school in Scotland,for a change.My parents wished to see me as a highly respected person,but I cared less.It seemed as if I had been called by the devil himself for a vacation.This school was no different from hell.
"I need an answer Miss Ainsley Steward." a masculine voice startled me.It was Mrs.Flnx again.I didn't even understand how such a voice could crawl into her throat. I found it difficult to speak at that moment.I was already in dire need for help as I sat in the chair with arms crossed. "Miss Ainsley???" I heard my name again,but what was I to say.
"It's fine Mrs.Flnx. I'm in the pink of my health right now.I can even climb the Mt.Everest"I replied,shaking violently as though I had been held captive in a refrigerator.
"You sure look fine Ainsley.What was the name of the disease?" "I-I don't seem to remember. It slipped my mind after I recovered".With a questioning look on her face,she nodded and walked back to class.I followed closely behind, with almost no distance between us.
"Do you need something?"she turned to me.
"Of course not Mrs.Flnx. I was just leaving "I run all the way to class saving my dear life.I knew very well I would not be a human after being caught by Mrs.Flnx.She'd make sure I suffered for it.
Rushing all the way to class I bumped straight into Fergus.The school's brain...he had done well to save himself a seat in the VIP section of the school.He was included in all entertainment activities and was the face of the school for centuries.
"Isn't it Kinsley?"He mentioned my name with that voice of his.He always had a problem mentioning my name which disgusted me.His way of mentioning my name made me want to puke.I furrowed my eyebrows and looked at him with complete disdain.
"Should I help you with something???" "Of course not Kinsley.I thought I needed an apology since you ruined my shirt....or maybe something more for that matter?"He said with his creepy smile on his face.
"You do not need an apology Ferguson!And why should I apologize to a bumptious person like you.You just didn't watch where you were heading to..."I hissed. He seemed to be lost in his own thoughts for a brief moment until he spoke.
"Why do you think of me as a bumptious person,Miss Kinsley?" "It's not a thought just a fact.You're not all that perfect.I don't know why every girl has her head over heels for you in here.Through my research and investigation,I got to know they're not in love with you,but for the sake of your handsome face nothing else.And please remember one thing when you see me again...THE NAME IS AINSLEY STEWARD" I walked past him without looking back at him.
"I will ! "His masculine voice echoed the hall.
During my stay in the school,I had learnt to adapt to my surroundings like a fish in water.From making friends to being the life of every party...I loved everyone in the school even the one who deserved the least love in the world,Mrs.Flnx but no one,even I never understood why I didn't see eye to eye with Fergus.Maybe it was our destiny to be sworn enemies.I hated everything he did and disliked it when I was always compared to him.
"Ainsley be like Fergus for once even if it's for some hours.He's a well behaved boy,very intelligent and everyone adores him.His parents enjoy the positive feedbacks everyone delivers to them about their son and what do I get?An absolute crazy daughter like you!"
My mum would yell at me for hours and hours and hours even if I died through her lectures,she was not going to notice.
Well she was right everyone loved Fergus very much..I expected him to be the killjoy at any place, but he seemed to be the life of every party as well.
Numerous trophies and other gifts were given to him by his previous school and other people in the community.He had this great opportunity because he was an intelligent student and respected people surrounding him.His kind heart could make even a bird fall in love with him,but with me it was different.
Maybe it was because I had been compared to him for a long time which made me to lose the interest people had in him.
"You're back Ains!"
My bff Lilian held me by my right arm."I was worried sick bae.I was already preparing my clothes and gifts for your funeral cause I already knew Mrs.Flns would have ended you a long time.I was even thinking of a nice perfume"she giggled."We will die together bae.That's why we're friends "

Well I wasn't a lesbian but Lilian had a way to make someone drool over her.I do remember the day she kissed me on my forehead with her cold pink lips.I thought she liked me by then but I realized it was just our bff rites.I was deeply disappointed cause I was gonna be really lucky to be her one and only.... Anyone would be because of her wild nature.
"I'm very much pleased you're all here.."a lady stood behind me and I already knew who it was after hearing that voice.
"Yes,Mrs.Flnx we were uhm going back to class"School was always boring.There were thousand strict rules and other uninteresting lessons.I just wished I could quickly graduate.
"Sit down learners!"Mrs.Flnx spoke "I do know you all have just a few weeks to graduate and that's one of the reasons why I'm giving you this assignment.It's really a great opportunity for you to get to know yourselves for the last time...I'll mention the pairs for each project and please do well to submit it next week"
She went on and on mentioning the names of the pairs and I never heard mine.
"Mrs.Flnx?I didn't hear my name.Am I excluded from the project?"I asked her after she was done sharing the question papers for the project.
"Oh Ainsley! I never excluded you.It just slipped my mind to mention you and Fergus are partners for the project."
"What?Fergus?Never!!"I yelled at her."This is never gonna happen Mrs.Flnx.It must have been a mistake"
"No one has ever spoken to me like that.Watch your tone Miss.Ainsley Steward "she retorted."It is not any mistake darling...just see it as a new beginning for the infected relationship between you and Fergus.He has always been a nice boy but I do not know why you are not happy about it.Any girl in this school would be very happy to be his partner."
"They're "any girl" I am Ainsley Steward.I do not like to mingle with people of his kind "
"Fine then,I will have to fail you in this assignment and remember if you fail you're not graduating ever.You will stay here in Scotland with us.I think your dearest parents wouldn't have any problem with that"
She knew what she was doing wasn't right,but she still did it.This woman was a replica of the devil himself. "Fine! I'll be his partner.Never blame me if you hear news of his death"I smiled at her.I couldn't fail this project.I needed to go back home to see my lovely siblings.
"I can already see you're on a new journey now Miss.Ainsley.I'll be looking forward to seeing you with Mr.Fergus. Don't forget this:You're on a new journey with Mr.Fergus dear." "Of course I won't"
