Chapter 293 - Chapter 293: Polo, Part 3

Boing! Boing! Boing! Boing! Boing!

The Shadowed mass of a sphere was acting like a pinball, letting the barrier close in on the battle, letting such a shorter space increase their speed and unpredictable strength, with Solomon casting another barrier to act as a layer, in case the first would break open, the second layer beginning to glow a small light the more it was getting hit. The Bride recognized such a glow, having it panic the more the duo bounced to and fro across the chapel, trying everything she could to deter its speed and have it calm down. She would gather any extra objects and throw them at their direction, forcing them to take such injuries. She would set up rockets to intercept the bounces and slam them back down to earth, hoping they'd stay there long enough to lose the momentum. She'd even try to physically grab them by such hammers and toss them straight down, hoping to make a large enough crater to cease any further movements between them.

Yet, despite it all, they still bounced.

The duo worked tirelessly, using the Hammers as a method to push themselves over, using the Hammers to strike at the rockets and create an even bigger impact to bounce off of, using the Hammers to catch themselves and throw upwards in order to start the whole thing again. The Bride was starting to become relentless as she'd see them effortlessly adapt to their situation. The Groom, burnt down to his very skin, would crawl his way towards his Wife, watching her be stressed further and further the longer and longer they remained, as if such deterrence would never be stopping them fully. A price was to be paid, if both of them wishes to have any hope of teetering the odds to their favor. He would tug at the Bride by her leg, pointing at the cracks that they were impacting the most, allowing her to see that they were following a predictable path, only breaking it once they were intercepted. Right as she tried to understand and piece together their plans, Solomon and Shady threw themselves at the two, in an effort to bulldoze both of them and crush them with such mass and weapons on their side. The Groom threw himself, despite his worn state, to catch such a ball, looking back at his Wife to ensure that it must be done.

The Bride solemnly nodded, as she'd try to take the Groom's Magic in creating such torture devices, allowing Solomon to see how exactly they shared the same magic: A Contract. Half of a page was placed in the woman's center, which he assumed was her essence, the one thing that still persists despite the damages she's sustained. The other half must've been in the Groom, and through such a contract, they are capable of utilizing both styles of magic together, so long as they remained together. Such was the reason why they harbored such love, such trust. They knew when it may be the end of their rope, yet they won't hesitate to help the other if it means there's a sign of hope. A Sign of Victory. The boy nudged his head to signal the Shadow to shift directions, aiming his hammer to strike at her, watching her prepare to utter its command, her arm upright. They would need to trade blows, meaning he would have to endure whatever she decides to bring out.

"T.M.I Now Processing..."

SHIKK!!! KER-CLANG!!

A direct hit on both sides.

The boy would be staggered as the ball wavered itself, quickly having the shadows patch up the wounds inflicted, whilst the Bride was quick in severing her own arm, now snapped in two by the strike, the aggression levels starting to rise once more, spreading alongside the poison. Solomon's wounds were born through his arms and back, tell-tale signs of the punctures from the Iron Chair. She somehow materialized the space between the likes of Shady and himself, using the endless void as such space to bring the chair to life, the swing from his hammer being enough to stab himself through it. As more binds were made to patch the wounds, the Bride was quick on casting it again, another chair, now above the child, in efforts to crush the boy through the ball itself. Shady, however, intervened by parrying the drop, the hammer acting as a wedge. Solomon grunted at seeing such a sight, his vision worsening due to the poison's effects, watching her prepare one more chair, slipping between them once again, aiming her rockets so that he would be forced to either blow up or dodge and risk getting his vitals stabbed. He would have to break the armored shell in his muscular structure if he wishes to prevent the poison from killing him, opening him back to such shock and sensitivity across his body. The shock would surely put him down for good, if it hits just right.

It was a perfect trap.

KA-BOOM!!!!

As the explosion set off, with the Bride still maintaining her hand on the body, she would see the Shadow once more. The head quickly formed back into the mask, the eyes curling upwards as if it was making a sneer grin, until she would see it grinning back. The Shadow would allow the boy to escape from its front, being unscathed whilst slowly dissipating the poison in the form of such a gas. He took it upon himself to throw his own body into the miasma, being punctured across his anatomy through the Iron Chair, before teleporting back to the state it used to be, the binds now circling around the Biblical Sorcerer once more, jumping once and slamming down on the ground with the hammer to prepare himself once more. The Bride backed away as she'd see the duo, starting to run low on her options, unable to figure out how to properly pin the child down again.

That was when her Husband approached her, tugging at her once more. His body was left lying there, smoked and singed by the electric currents. The Bride immediately understood what he was trying to say. She shakes her mask in horror, but the Groom insisted, grabbing ahold of her leg, providing her the metal necessary.

She was evolving, at the cost of his life.
