Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: The Dunes of Salvandi

It was a long, shining morning for the two of them. The sun smiled itself down towards the sky, as the swift, warm breeze flew between the lands without any resistance. There was no other sound but the chirping of birds and the small squeaks that act as voices from below. T'was a restful morning indeed, as Harvard, the child with puffy hair and a tuxedo, slept soundly amidst the fog that was from his very Monster: Fantasia. Zazel, a Demon with onyx skin, leather jacket, and simple pants, was also resting, though turned his body to and fro as he deals with the warmth of the shining star above them. The two had themselves dreams of varying quality, with Zazel's being that of a Castle, where creatures of many non-Euclidean shapes tried to explore it, their bodies being more abstract than anything else. It was an odd dream, to say the least. Harvard's was within a dark, watery abyss. Lights being seen at a distance, lights which dictated events he read upon his stories. Each time the boy swam, he could feel himself getting faster and faster, until he was uncontrollable.

The two quickly woke up when their dreams ceased itself, a sudden end which caused the two to be startled and regain their bearings. Harvard rubbed his tired eyes and would see their destination flying overhead: A Land made up of solid stone, patterns that are structured exactly like how a kingdom should be. Houses and Taverns in a Cubism style, with the kingdom itself to be wide open for everyone, only having stone walls around them as their defenses. The kingdom, at a distance, had itself two grand rooms: One that was most likely a kitchen, dining, and park-like outdoors, while the other served to have hammocks and a bonfire, acting as the bedrooms for the royal family. He'd question himself exactly how do they survive such a hot display? The sun was always up for them, and there doesn't seem to be any sign of rain, but Zazel would quickly let the child know why such was possible. "Hey! Look over here!" Zazel stated, pointing his finger towards the harbor near them.

Such held a port with the finest acacia wood, most likely ported just as much from overseas, housing numerous ships on its side: some big, some small. Some short, some tall. Some with a wide base, some with large, silky flags. Some with metal to sturdy the ship, some that goes for an offense by using the metal for their cannons. It was almost as if an entire artillery was right there, ripe for taking and sailing across the world's oceans for. It was glorious. The duo's attention shifted after seeing such shipyards towards what looked to be a larger building, going just out of reach from the very kingdom itself, and one that was structured entirely different. They were nothing short than ruins, stone and wood being eroded and decayed from the weather itself. A place that the two nodded at each other, when their ideas came together in such a phantasmal display

It was a location to witness firsthand.

As they landed downwards, the very size of the land looked as if it was growing, spanning farther and farther when they made their way to the ground, Fantasia disappearing back into a card, as the duo looked around further at their surroundings. Each passing second makes it feel more alien than ever, and each passing second only fueled curiosity amidst their minds. Who else lived here? WHAT else lived here, even?? It was a place that they themselves need to see to believe. They quickly made their way across the hot sand to the Tavern they saw up above, entranced by the buildings that make up their very structure. "So, any bets on what kinds of Missions this place can have?" Harvard would ask, quickening his pace as he becomes more adjusted to the sands.

"Hmmmmmm....I'll bet one of them has to do with the Shipyard, for starters! It looks super special for these people, So it MIGHT be something to come up!" Zazel would answer, also quickening himself, running faster and faster, trying to keep up to pace with the likes of the Card Magician.

"Good guess! Though....I'm itching another one might have something to do with that old, ruined shack nearby us!"

"You really think someone would want a mission to be solved there..?"

"Well, Duh! It's old, scary, and probably quiet! It must have big information there that we can use for ourselves!" Harvard kept his pace faster and faster, with the two almost going near lightning speed, even casting a spell or two to catch up one another, before finally running straight into the Tavern's walls itself. They'd get stunned a bit, falling amidst the sand, dizzy, before they would shake it off and get up. What the two never expected, at least from Harvard's view, was that there was someone else who wanted to get such missions for themselves. Someone just as young. Someone just as small.

Someone, more specifically two people, who looked just like him and Zazel.

Harvard would get up and investigate the scene, entering inside the tavern, Zazel following suit, taking a strong look at the inside of such a building. It was almost like the Tavern in Oaking: Solid structure in its floor and walls, only instead of wood it is with solid grey brick, lines across its framework to showcase its impact, while also having tables made all over the place. The bar-like table at the far end acts as the holder for most papers, which includes the quests one would take, at least such was the assumption the kids had. As they keep venturing more and more into it, a quick shadow was made across the area, seeing two individuals on their side.

"Look! Look! They released 5 more for us! How lucky, are we?"

"We're only lucky if the 5 are actually NICE to us, Stolas."

The kids investigate the scene further, curiouser and curiouser.
