In a time long ago the world was consumed with endless battles. No official governing system existed then. Hiring warriors for transport, protection, even all out war was becoming common practice. In this world of constant war and strife, power meant everything. These warriors banded together forming houses called Guilds.
Nothing more than mere mercenaries, the guilds were militia groups divided by clan and banner. The Silverstone Raiders were known far and wide as a clan of warriors with unrivaled strength and no adherence to territorial law.
Within the guild their leader Silvers Sloan was the most powerful warrior of his time. Who had conquered every challenge the world had to offer. Time and again the Raiders found themselves in battle with rival guilds and budding nations. However, the endless cycles of fighting threatened everyone.
The leaders of newly founded lands who believed this would later band together to create peace under a new organization.
But guilds and laws have always acted like fire and ice unable to peacefully coexist. To many this was obvious and so new battle lines were drawn.
Sloan challenged this like many other things in life. Truly a man who had conquered every challenge the world had to offer. His last words before his subsequent capture and execution would become a catalyst inspiring countless around the world to dare to dream.
"Wealth, fame, and power you can obtain this and much more of what the world has to offer. I have gathered this and now leave them to you."
He shouted these last words out as the headsman's ax dropped.
This sparked the dawn of a NEW ERA.
