Alone... not so much. As soon as he took his first step, a scorpion came out from under the golden glistering sand. It took Jin Un by surprised as it slashed out, trying to kill him. However, his MC buff over ordinary peasant mobs took over and fricking destroyed that scorpion without a trace. A desert worm followed next and met the same fate. Why don't writers come up with better and more unique desert mobs other than sand worms and desert scorpions. Whatever, I'm not creative enough to think of better mobs. He shrugged the thought off and focused on the EXP goldmine that was right in front of him.
Half an hour passed as Jin Un grinded and grinded. It was weird as who would give out so many EXP to the main chracter for free (definitely not every author of this genre). After the entire grind, Jin Un grew by a level. He was waiting for the catch, but it never happened... Until NOW!!!! A huge centipede (yet a another creative mob) appeared. It was the size of 2 football fields(American metric system) and its skin was dark red and thick. It bursted out from the sand, taking a whole second to come out. Jin Un could have killed it while it was coming out, but you need to respect the law of anime and wait for your opponent.
As soon as it was ready, it's head lashed out. Jin Un took a strategical dodge and stuck the neck, expecting take some damage. But thanks to the hours of grinding, he one-shotted it.
Ik it was anti-climatic but Jin Un felt uneasy, the boss was too weak and this wouldn't satisfy the readers. Luckily, there is something called the second phase. As he was walking away, Jin Un suddenly realised, there was no "EXP gained" window. He turned around, and the centipede was already coming for his head. It had turned dark purple and the head was attached back to its head without a trace. He used slash on the creature while dodging its attack but it had minimal damage. The skin had become stronger. He panicked. No monster was able to withstand his slash and definitely not by this much. He thought about a plan while dodging, using his main character abilities like thinking while battling and flashback. He saw that the underbelly of the centipede was soft, but how was he going to get under it without dying. He suddenly had a plan.
As he was grinding earlier, by total coincidence and definitely not lazy writing, he somehow got a spear from a sandworm. As readers, you guys just have to believe it is coincidence. Jin Un took the spear out of his inventory and stuck it to the ground. It was unusually long and had a special effect that makes it deal 50% more damage against centipedes. By coincidence. He lured and taunted the centipede, calling out names. As it felt emotional damage and insecure from the taunt, it lashed for another strike and BY COINCIDENCE didn't see the spear. As it landed, Splat! Green insect blood flowed out from the bottom of the centipede.
