Ana paced around her room. It was about 5 in the afternoon and their classes had just ended for the day. Valerian didn't want her to get into danger but at the same time, there was just no way she would just sit here, not when there was clearly something she could do to help.
With each step she took, she replayed the encounter in the restroom over and over in her mind. The cryptic words of the intruder, the menacing threat, and the urgency of the situation weighed heavily on her shoulders. She had a deep sense that the answers they sought were closer than ever, just beyond the veil of shadows.
Ana knew Valerian's concern was born out of genuine care–even though that seemed hard to believe—but she couldn't suppress the itch in the back of her mind, the persistent call to action. She had always been driven by a fierce desire to right wrongs and uncover the truth, and this situation was no different
