"One-hundred years ago, there was a loud rumbling underneath the earth, as a large ancient tree had emerged from the ground. Along with the tree a large shockwave shook the world, causing mythical creatures to spawn around the world. Along with this phenomena, people across the globe began showing signs of elemental powers. This world changing event was soon known as the World Tree Incident. Thus giving us the world we have today, filled with magic, other races such as Elves, Orcs, and many others to impact the world today. An era filled with magic from an infinite amount of possible combinations! " The young man said.
His braided hair swayed with each movement, his hollow eyes gasping with light as it sparks out of the overwhelming abyss, and skin brown like an ancient tablet bathed in mud.
There was silence in the dull classroom, as it had become vaguely obvious that nobody was paying attention, because they were all talking away to each other. The classroom was filled with a variety of students, which gave the room an almost artistic feel to it. There were the Ice Elves that didn't really sit together, but it was clear they all knew each other. Then there were the Orcs, they were considered the smart and rational kids in the school, but they are usually placed under the stereotype of violence first talk later, Then there were the humans.
Most of the humans really don't like sitting next to the other races, whether it be superiority, racial profiling, or just lack of communication, there is some reason most humans and the other races get along. Though, it could be the fact that this is the first generation of kids to officially join the Board of Education.
This happened after a couple of protests occurred, for equal treatment. Thankfully nowadays races usually have equal rights, but still suffer discrimination.
Feeling as if he has accomplished nothing. The boy grabbed his poster and began walking back to his seat, only to be tripped by one of the students. The class fell into laughter as they all laughed at him, on the ground.
He quickly got up, but it was too late. He was surrounded by the laughter of his peers.
Feeling ashamed he walked back to his seat in the final row with disappointment in his pride.
The announcement bell went off as a rough yet static voice rumbled throughout the school.
"Students and Teachers, Please remember that the annual Combat Brawl will be held after 4:30 P:M. Make sure to buy your tickets now only for 3$ Thank you for having a great day." The voice on the speaker said.
Everyone's voice became aghast, as they were intrigued by the thought of someone like Siren fighting the practical king of the students. Siren sighed with annoyance as he got out of his seat, and quickly made his escape out of the classroom. The hallway was filled with kids skipping their classes, and the troublemakers that just want to watch the school burn.
He began walking to the one place that he knew most kids wouldn't bother trying to enter, mostly because they find it pointless.
The Greenhouse.
Siren walks up to the room, and almost immediately is hit with the natural aroma of the lavishing flowers. The scent was like an expensive candle being lit in the room, as a variety of flowers bloomed elegantly across the room. It was like nature was dancing all around him in a somber tone. In the middle of the floral masterpiece was a young woman with vibrant silver hair, somber ocean blue eyes, and a figure that would leave most men in a state of mesmerization.
Out of all the flowers that bloomed Ana Thornheart was the most beautiful of them all.
They two locked eyes, as they walked towards each other with a welcoming smile on their faces.
"Hey Si! What are you doing here? I thought you weren't the type to skip class, even on the last day of school." She said feeling intrigued.
Siren's smile soon dimmed to a brooding frown as he sighed heavily.
"Do you know that announcement for the annual Combat Brawl? Well, everyone voted for me to fight that one football player. What was his name? Chase, I think? At least I got you and Celeste tickets!" Siren said with little hope in his voice. Ana's smile went into an expression of shock.
"Come on Si! Does your sister have to go? She hates my guts!" Ana said with desperation. Siren had forgotten that his sister dislikes Ana due to a misunderstanding that occurred recently. Nevertheless, he insisted that this would be the perfect time to spend time with one another. Ana, Disappointed, agreed as the speaker suddenly went live. *Students please head to the stadium for a special performance!* It boomed. Everyone began walking down the crowded hallways that were always so crowded that it felt almost claustrophobic. The lack of space, Pushing and shoving, created a total nightmare for the individuals that hated crowded spaces. Siren, and Ana finally made it to the locker room where they sat there exhausted from all the walking and standing around they had to do. "So Si, I have a question for ya. How do you plan on whooping this guy's ass? Cause I don't know what you could possibly do in this scenario." Ana said in a disturbed tone.
Siren chuckled after hearing her voice before with a quite confident look on his face. "Well if you must know, I'm simply gonna pray that I can win!" He overdramatically yells out. Siren looked over to see Ana's reaction only to disappointment on her face. " To think an individual such as the naturally gifted in intellectual prowess, and most military tactics would do something so basic that is disappointing!" She mumbled.
Every time something that involves actually trying, Ana always attempts to encourage Siren to come up with some large god level plan, which he hates doing. He believes that being too smart is dumb sometimes, as using unnecessary force is useless, and can cause more trouble than it solves. "Fine then miss, try hard, I will make a bet with you! If my plan doesn't go the way I wanted it too, we have to go eat ice cream with your money, but if I have to use a different plan, then I have to do whatever you want me to do!" Siren shouted with interest. "Anything?" Ana asked with malice in her eyes. Siren quickly nodded before both of them shook hands. Suddenly the announcer calls for Siren to come out in which he rushes out to the arena. "Ladies and gentlemen, here comes nobody from Newland high. I give you Siren Thompson!!!" The announcer shouted into his mike as a crowd shouted loudly. Siren looked around to see the entire arena shouted, yelling things he didn't even think he would hear. He heard the occasional boos and "I hope he gets his head crushed" but he also heard cheering and actual interest. Siren turned his head, and looked behind him and saw Ana, and his sister cheering him on.
Not many people would expect Celeste to be the type of person to wear dark, and edgy clothes with, her ominous black hair and goth-like appearance, her personality couldn't be more dead wrong. She is far too annoying and upgoing to be in that category, and her mentality is too upbeat for it to match.. "Now ladies and gentlemen, The star has arrived, the king of prom, and ruler of the underground, I give you Chase Gonzales!!!" The crowd was definitely cheering louder than any super bowl game at that moment. Chase was a tall black man who looked like the average person who secretly becomes an addict due to being privileged but still has some good qualities to him. Siren sighed as he heard the bell ring silencing everyone.
Siren opened his eyes to show that his sclera had completely turned black along with his iris, while his pupil gained a white dot around it. That was Siren's gift, the gift of the Void clan. Each Individual can access magic in some form of way, whether it being, birth, learning it, or even stealing it. Siren inherited his Father's Void magic which gives him access to a lot of support moves. Siren spat on the ground, and without hesitation blitzed behind Chase who wasn't even phased at all dodging the nearly instant kick. Chase clapped his hands before hitting some random pose before boldly saying. " Oh Siren, Siren. You are a fool not to change up your tactics beforehand! I did my research pal and trust me, you will lose this fight!" Chase backed up and aimed his hand toward Siren.
Ancient symbols surrounded Chase, as beams of pure light dispersed from them. Siren, unable to dodge them, aggressively shoves his hand into the ground and with all his might lifts his hand into the air as the earth around them, was sent flying into the air creating a pillar of rubble and dust. The beam blasted straight through it though and hit Siren directly sending him into the colosseum walls. The rubble suddenly, in a burst of wind, went everywhere. Siren stood up, and caught his breath. He was already exhausted, but not out of options. Another beam of light was shot, but this time Siren was prepared and dodged it precisely. A black aura surrounded Siren's hand as heat radiated off of it. His heartbeat was fierce as his fist vibrated with all of the motion. Siren knew about how the elements work as the five subclasses; fIre, earth, air, water, and Void, often lead the way toward the practically infinite growing subclasses of elements.
Five sets of light blitzed toward Siren, but this time he was ready for it as he used his black fist to deflect one of the light beams directly back at Chase. Explosions clouded their view as smoke rumbled the air. Siren knew that Chase had demon blood in him as his father was a well known vampire activist in the past so he carefully watched the smoke's movement. Suddenly a swooshing noise quickly appeared behind Siren as with as much speed he could muster up, completely threw his left leg as fast as possible behind him. The kick missed and suddenly Chase threw a punch of his own directly at Siren's face, but his fist went straight through Siren almost like he had punched a gust of wind.
This was because Siren made himself intangible for a split second, thanks to the different variants of Void, it leaves a lot of room for your imagination to expand upon.
Siren then came down from above and roundhouse kicked Chase head first into the ground similar to rain pounding down on the rough yet stiff soil of the earth. " You missed prick!" Siren faintly said as his voice sounded rigid and exhausted. Siren stared at Chase's motionless body as he panted in exhaustion. Suddenly Chase sprung out of the ground and grabbed Siren by the neck as he picked him up. "Did you think I would fall that easily? I'm not stupid!" Chase shouted as his eyes became bloodshot red and bright red wings sprouted behind him. He then sprung up into the air still holding Siren by the neck tightly with his cold fingers. Siren's breath was practically nonexistent as he clinged on for dear life as he flailed around like a kid hanging from a tree. Chase aggressively chucked Siren downward as he then pursued with him his body warming up in hot pursuit.
Siren's body plowed into the ground as his screaming was all but quiet as then just as he collided with the ground, Chase followed it up with a sharp kick to the stomach as the impact was destructive.
A footprint was left on Siren as he laid there with drool rolling down his mouth. Chase turned away as the crowd cheered for him. A faint tap touched his shoulder as he turned around. A small piece of wet sand struck him in his eyes as he shrieked in pain.Siren's eyes returned to normal as the remaining power went into his fist. Although the color wasn't there the strain and muscle was, and Siren landed a swift curve punch, sending Chase straight into the ground. "You shouldn't have turned around." Siren shouted as he stood there barely capable of standing.
The crowd went silent as they all stared at the motionless figure that was the student president. Blood drooled from his mouth as the paramedics were soon to arrive to take Chase to the hospital, and all the while Siren's face didn't change. He didn't feel much for it as he was paid to go all out so it wasn't his fault. As he began walking out the arena, he could feel the trash being thrown at him whether it was food, condiments, rocks, and even a few elements toward his way, and yet his posture didn't change, his face wasn't saddened but his emotions shifted.
He was proud.
They came to watch two men fight, and yet they were still dissatisfied by pure bias. Siren rushed to his locker room, and sighed with exhaustion. Noises rumbled outside as yelling and banging arrived at his door. Siren didn't even need to guess why they were screaming at him.
Kill yourself, or you should go ahead and die in a hole! The influence of a person's words can and will always change the outcome of any biased perception, and Chase is the exact definition of that. As the student council president he already has more power over most peers, but what made him so likable was his words and how he shared his message. The door bursted open as civilians rushed in and began attacking Siren. He could feel each and every person enter, and each fist and boot connect to his face and all the while he knew he deserved this. More and more people arrived and joined the beatdown as now blood was starting to appear on the citizen's shoes. Suddenly before Siren knew it a kick to the face was all it took to knock him out completely.
When he opened his eyes he wasn't in the locker room anymore but instead he found himself in an endless place of nothingness as there was only black and himself. " What in the hell is this place?" He asked himself as he began walking around. Each step that he took felt almost slime-like as if he was walking on thick jello. Minutes turned to hours and hours felt like days as his legs were exhausted. Siren didn't want to walk anymore at all as he closed his eyes hoping for a miracle to occur but nothing happened. Nothing good that is. Suddenly a watery step was heard in the distance which made Siren bounce off in excitement before only meeting with something he couldn't have even dreamt of. In front of him was no animal, and definitely no human but could only be described as demonic. His heart beated as he stared into the eyes of what felt like Satan himself.
Its eyes were bright red and its figure was almost doll-like as its body practically blent into the black area they both were in. Siren didn't want to blink as he for the first time in a while felt the fear of death. Not the concept itself but the unknown possibilities that could arise from this irregular entity. However unluckily for Siren he couldn't hold his eyes for too long as he blinked and just as he feared the monster was gone but not far. Siren desperately began looking around as his heart began beating uncontrollably, his heart felt tight almost like multiple rubber bands were wrapped around it waiting for it to burst. From behind Siren a wet yet firm and sticky hand slammed him by the neck into the ground. Its intangible mouth could be heard opening similar to an alligator opening its mouth as it muttered the words that sent Siren straight into panic mode.
"Did you forget who I am. . .Siren?" It whispered in a tone all too familiar to Siren. He began screaming out for help as he could feel the indescribable hand morph into a feminine hand the corrested Siren's neck as it shoved something in his mouth. Fear turned into desperation as he finally got a view of the monster now. The monster was now visible and even worse undetectable in the common crowd. The monster formed into a classical female model, with hair as black as the dreadful night sky, its eyes were still red but now they were a purplish red - that was more red than purple, and a face as smooth as a smooth ball. Siren looked down at his body and his heart sank. Not only was he tied up but, Long time no see. . .Azrael." It whispered. Siren with the last bit of strength shouted as loud as he could before receiving a slap on his face. His eyes were sore and his body felt numb as he squinted his eyes to see the light in his eyes. "Si? Ana, he's waking up!" someone shouted before two figures surrounded him. Off of pure instinct Siren used all of his might to push himself back into the corner. " Si, it's just me Celeste! You know your sister?" She yelled out. Siren had realized that what had happened can only be presumed to be a . . . complex dream.
Siren's eyes looked pitch black, similar to a person who has seen the epitome of fear up close. He wasn't concerned about the wounds at all as he stood up with a smile on his face without paying attention to the pain attacking him.
This is an actor's true technique. "You two could've came sooner guys!" He spoke jokingly as he attempted to walk around before falling on his sister's back. "Jeez even for a 17 year old, you still rely on your sister don't cha?" Celeste muttered as she surprisingly managed to pick up Siren off the ground. Ana was completely amazed by this as she began refusely clapping. Siren paused for a moment as they began walking out of the locker room.
Ana and Celeste had no reaction as they walked by it and out the building. "Well I saw that you two finally got along over something! Mind tell me what that was?" Siren said with interest. The two looked at each other and smiled, completely ignoring the question. " When you like something a lot you can even bare the annoying goth chick that hangs around" Ana said with a very specific tone. "Same can be said about the wannabe school slut!" Celeste replied as they gave each other a quiet yet clear death stare. Siren bonked them both in the head as he pouted heavily with disappointment washed over him again." Since you two are 'friends' now, how about we have a sleepover to end our childhood right? Plus you two can finally sleep in Celeste's room and not in mom's room. " Siren said as he patted their heads. He looked up at the sky and sighed. He wondered what it's like living a happy life, but a part of him didn't actually care. The street was lit up and the wind blew heavily, as they chuckled with the wind, and before they knew it they arrived at home.
