I sat on a chair near the desk. The room was a bit empty considering that there are only 4 visible people I can see. Of course, one of them is the female receptionist at the desk, whom I have talked to earlier. After the chat that we had, the building went back to a deafening silence. It bothers me somehow to the point that regretting this decision became an option.
Ding! One of the lights turned on at the reception desk. It illuminated the woman's face to a red. It terrifies me considering that she smiled afterwards while looking at me.
"Come closer, mister...?" The receptionist never had a questioning face despite the tone of her voice. She just stared, waiting for me to do something. Obviously, I walked closer to the machine next to a desk. I then let it scan my wrist where a blue whirring laser light read my ID.
"Mister Watcher. Jann Watcher." The receptionist smiled.
It took a while but the machine managed to do it's job; at least based on what the receptionist said. She managed to get my name right. I'm sure that the other credentials are also true and correct... I hope.
"Please go to that door and enter the second room on to the left," the receptionist eloquently directed. "Gwen is written on the sign plate."
I nodded and walked straight to the door leading to other rooms. It automatically opened upon sensing my presence in which I acknowledge by walking in. Right before the door closes, I heard a familliar sound coming from the room I was in earlier. And so, the automated entrance became an exit to mine as it now blocks the pathway.
I counted "1,2" on my left. Yes, it's pointless to count as two is pretty much a common number but you never know. I checked the nameplate written on the door where the name "Gwen" was written. Somehow, it seemed carved using a kitchen knife unlike the nameplates on the other rooms. It may be a sign already as a danger but all the work I've done is a waste without even checking inside.
I waved at the hole camera placed in front of the door. Standing here did not made it move so I assume that it is manually operated. Due to impatience, although only a minute has passed; I decided to take a peek on the door.
Whir! Just when I moved my head closer, the door opened. It revealed an aromatic fragrance that easily spreads through the hallway. The color red and pink dominated my sight as the light coming from the windows reflected. I can't help but to take a step in this alluring entry. Everything seemed fragrant and rosy until I heard a clunky device from the corner of the room. Next to it, is something that even crashes my expectations.
"You're the intern?" A huge and deep voice echoed around the room. The door closed behind me which even strengthen the vibration of the sound.
I gulped and gathered my composure. Before I can even come up with an answer, another wave of strong character crashed to me.
I instinctively raised my hand to an upcoming danger. This danger needed speed and an enough skill level of reaction time to avoid. Oh, what danger do I mean by all these? It's a-
"Uwah!" I let out an expression after grabbing neon blue coat. It came flying to me the same time the guy greeted me. I'm assuming it's his way of introducing himself, although that's not enough.
"Hurry up. I just received a new assignment." The guy started walking to the door where I was. Everything happened so fast that I can't even express myself.
The door opened in which the guy made his exit. I stand in the room with the dilemma of even following him or quitting. I had lots of questions in my head that could only be answered by him. So what choice do I even have to satisfy this curiosity that I have? And so, I followed.
Amidst the vague atmosphere, there's one thing I am sure of. I tried to scream it at the top of my lungs to make its clarity.
"I am not an intern, sir!"
