Chapter 21 - Onward to the King's Domain (1)

  'Humm-hmm'

The sweet sound of a woman humming woke me up, her melodious voice filling the atmosphere surrounding me.

I cautiously opened my eyes, squinting against the bright light of the room. A figure leaned over me and I looked up to see a woman with long black hair that draped like a curtain around her shoulders.

Then I recognized that this beautiful woman was actually my current mother. She smiled down at me tenderly and stroked my forehead.

As I looked at my mother, I still couldn't believe how beautiful she was - her hair shimmering in the light, her eyes twinkling with joy, her smile radiant and warm.

She was like an angel, kind and gentle. Even meeting my other family members for the first time didn't faze me - they all shared these same features of grace and beauty.

My mother gazed down at me and cooed, ''What is it my darling? Are you feeling hungry right now?''

My thoughts began to unravel a series of memories that left me sleepless all night. It was like a dream, but so vivid and real.

There I saw him, the angel who put me in this mysterious world. In my dream, I found myself in a mysterious forest, surrounded by darkness and in front of me is that angelic person with captivating eyes and incredibly attractive looks.

It was at that moment that something clicked in my mind. Melissa's warning echoed in my thoughts, Never trust him.

Could it be him? The man from my dream? The man who had placed me in this peculiar situation?

I felt a surge of protectiveness overtake me. I was determined to be cautious, to keep my guard up. But in my anxiety, I forgot to ask the most basic question of all – his name.

"Oh, I forgot to say it... Good morning, Melissa" My mother then greeted me with her tender and kind voice.

She gently scooped me up in her arms and held me close like I was the most important thing in the world to her.

"I'm so happy to see your cute face again, my dear child."

I felt safe in her warm embrace and knew that as long as she was there, nothing could harm me.

As she enveloped me in her warm embrace, a delighted gurgle escaped my plump lips.

My small, chubby hands reached up to touch the softness of her face, feeling the roughness of her under my skin. My world melted away, and I was content to stay in this moment forever.

She smiled fondly as I ran my chubby fingers over her delicate face, tracing its perfect lines and curves.

Her skin was smooth like a porcelain doll against my fingertips, and the warmth of her embrace filled me with delight and awe. I felt so privileged to be in her arms.

"Did you sleep well, my dear?" Her words felt like a gentle hug for my heart.

I turned towards her voice, drinking at the sight of her rosy cheeks and long lashes.

''Coo''

I cooed my response, babbling a language that only made sense between us. She nodded as if she comprehended every word, and I felt so special at that moment.

Her hug wrapped me in its warm embrace, and I felt like nothing bad could ever happen to me.

There wasn't an ounce of worry or fear left in my heart; she had somehow chased them all away.

I felt my heart swell as her warm breath cascaded over my cheeks.

Her gaze was filled with unconditional love, and she lovingly muttered words that I'd never forget.

''You know, Melissa, I can't wait for you to get bigger so we can go to places  you like. That's how much I care about you''

I gurgled happily in response, feeling the warmth of her love enveloping me like a soft, comforting blanket. In that moment, the worries of the kingdom, and the weight of royal responsibilities, all faded into the background.

I was just a contented baby, cradled in the arms of a queen who was my mother, surrounded by a love that knew no bounds.

At times, I find it hard to believe I'm here, in this place, surrounded by these people. I can't help but wonder if the real Melissa ever experienced this kind of feeling. Did she truly know how much these people loved her?

But I suppose I'm meant to be here. I just hope Melissa doesn't mind that I'm here.

She looked at me with a mischievous glint in her eye. "Let's go surprise your father today, I'm sure he'll be very happy to see you."

I like that idea. It's a great chance for me to explore all the interesting spots here. I'm looking forward to it, especially checking out the king's office. It sounds pretty exciting.

-----------------------------------------------------------

As I nestled in my mother's loving arms, We started walking down the palace's grand hallway. With its tall marble columns, elaborate paintings, and chandeliers that twinkled like a million stars above.

The scenery of this place was truly a wonderland for someone like me, who is new to this world. But I hope that one day I will be able to see this fantasy world with my own two eyes.

Two maids are also accompanying us at the back, their faces solemn with duty. They moved with grace, their footsteps barely audible on the polished marble floor.

They kept a close eye on us, and I knew their primary responsibility was to ensure my safety and comfort as a member of the country's royal family.

There was also a tall and imposing guard walking alongside us. His armor clinked softly with each step, and his unwavering presence added an extra layer of defense.

With him nearby, I felt safe because his aura displayed such a dominant presence that I couldn't stop staring at him.

Then my mother led the way with regal grace in a maroon beautiful gown, her black hair spreading down her back like a river of sunlight.

She exuded authority and compassion, befitting a true queen in every way.

I really admire the love that radiated from her, as well as the strong and confident person she appears to be right now.

We walked carefully, our steps making loud sounds on the hard floor.

'' If they try it, I'll make sure to kill them all!"

Behind the grand, fancy door to the office, there was a loud voice yelling from inside.

The voice was raging and thunderous, sending shivers down my tiny spine.

I clung to my mother, terrified of the voice next door.
