Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Reincarnating Azeroth's former Dragon Aspect of Magic

Malygos and Sindragosa, the former rulers of the Azeroth's Blue Dragonflight, have finally reunited and decided to enter the Shadowlands for their eternal rest when they suddenly heard a voice.

Balerion: "Stop"

This voice was familiar as it spoke in dragon tongue. This voice physically manifested itself in front of the two.

Balerion hastely caught their attention, before they enter the realm of death in Azeroth called Shadowlands. Just a few moments and it would have been too late. As a God of Death, he could not invade another world's realm of death. This would have also complicated things.

Balerion: Greetings fellow dragons, I am Balerion the Dragon God of Death from a world called Planetos. Forgive my behavior as I need you to stay and listen before you take another step.

The couple were surprised by the sudden intrusion. This being in front of them had a similar divine aura to the Titans. Yet it was blocking their chance to finally lay to rest. Malygos demanded for it to step aside and leave them alone.

Malygos: Indeed you surprised us divine one. I am Malygos and this is my mate Sindragosa. I can see that you have something to ask of us, but it is none of our concern. Your attempt to block our path to eternal rest is discourteous even for a god.

Balerion was taken aback by the bluntness of the blue dragon. Yet even he had to admitt that these dragons in front of him held powerful magic already close to the Dragon Gods of Valyria. This was proving a challenge for him as these two are proving to be difficult to convince.

Balerion: Apologies my fellow, but I cannot allow you to step further. I have a dire request to both of you. Even as a god I am humbly asking to spare me your ears and hearts, and listen to my tale which entails the survival of dragonkind from my world

Sindragosa, seeing the humility from a god nudged Malygos to hear out the pleas of the dragon before them. Malygos though a bit reluctant to agree with his mate considering that this Dragon God has a resemblance to the accursed Black Dragonflight.

Sindragosa: My dear, this divine one is begging us to hear him out. It would not to hurt to listen....

Malygos: My love, your words bring wisdom and I shall consider it, but it does not mean we will agree to whatever he is to ask of us, god or not, we have earned our right to finally live freely.

Malygos was right, he and a Sindragosa have passed on the leadership to someone else and they did deserve to live in peace. No more involvement in wars or conflicts.

Balerion gulped as the male blue dragon seems decided already regardless of what he has to say

Balerion: I thank thee my brethren. I know that my selfishness is abhorent and as a God of Death himself from another world, I wish to also give you both eternal peace. Yet my world itself is in the brink of destruction with the eventual extinction of dragonkind. And why is that? well the mortals who we trusted to care for our children became arrogant to listen our warnings of an impending destruction. In my world we called it "The Doom of Valyria". From a once glorious empire that spanned 5 thousand years, was extinguished within a day. Only 5 of our children survived but they have become mindless beasts mounted for wars. A mistake which me and my divine siblings did not see coming, as we were blinded by the glory of an empire that worshipped us.

The Dragon God of Death made his pleas, but instead just irked the former Aspect of Magic as it felt shoving the responsibility towards him and Sindragosa to fix their problems.

Malygos: Divine one, with all due respect but either me nor my mate are obliged to take on this burden, the way I see it you and the other gods could have intervened.

Sindragosa: My mate is right. We are no longer bound to the conflicts of gods and mortals.

Balerion in shame, made one more case that could either end his task in failure or convince the two to agree

Balerion: Malygos in my world, dragons are the very essence of magic. With their disappearance means the end of magic. With the end of magic, the barriers protecting our world would unleash demons, whose sale purpose is to sough death and destruction. As the former Aspect of Magic, would you not make sure that magic thrives. Dragons from my world deserve to thrive once more.

Malygos and Sindragosa felt the words. Even in death, they still have a strong sense of obligation to their noble task as guardians of magic. Magic itself was neither good nor evil. Furthermore, hearing that demons would cause chaos and destruction with the disappearance of magic, was a bitter reminder of the Burning Legion's invasion in Azeroth.

So with a bit of hesitation, Maylgos and Sindragosa relented and accepted the task.

Malygos: I understand deeply your burden, but me and my mate are about to enter the Shadowlands, meaning we no longer have physical vessels to use and practice magic.

Sindragosa: Furthermore divine one, how would we even travel to your world. As Malygos has mentioned we are not able to use magic in our spiritual forms

Balerion: as the Dragon God of Death, I have the power to reincarnate both of you. Like every other life form and both will go through natural birth. Thus, both will be born as eggs and hatch from a Targaeryan dragon called Meraxes.

This was a surprise to both blue dragons as they have never been clutchmates or siblings when they were born as proto dragons. So being siblings was a bit weird

Sindragosa: Divine one, me and my mate are not siblings in our world. Wouldn't this create some problems? Our world has discovered that inbreeding can cause side effects even to the point of not using magic

Balerion was surprised by this information as he did not considered it an issue. The Valyrians kept the practice of inbreeding and did not encounter any problems. Then again he did not want this to block his goal to reincarnate them, so he suggested that Sindragosa will be a hatchling of Vhagar and Malygos a hatchling of Meraxes

This arrangement was agreeable to both blue dragons. Though they still felt robbed of their chance for eternal rest, yet their noble task as protectors of magic was stronger than their desire.

All three dragons were about to travel, when a pantheon member from the Shadowlands appeared and stared at Balerion.

The divine being looked like a shining gold statue. it also had a halo and golden transluscent wings. The ruler and judge from Azeroth's Realm of Death communicated through telepathy to the three

Arbiter: Greetings! I am the one called Arbiter. I am one who judges mortal souls that enter the Shadowlands. I have sensed a similar divine aura so I came to see what was happening. It seems two mortal souls were supposed to enter my realm but what was stopped. May I know the reason?

Balerion felt an affinity with the other being and spoke the words that the other one could understand.

Balerion: Divine one. As someone who is part of the afterlife, I have asked these two to aid me and my world from falling into destruction. The imminent death of my kind means the destruction of both life and death. Bringing them to my world will mean restoring not only my children but also restoring balance back into the world.

Arbiter: I understand. But I must hear it from themselves. Do you two wish to travel to that world. You may not be able to reincarnate in Azeroth?

Malygosa and Sindragosa nodded and simply answered yes at the same time

Arbiter: Very well then. I wish you luck on your travels

Balerion: Thank you divine one. And in order to make their task easier, since they are excellent magic users, both will be able to use Magic at their prime level the moment they are born. They will also be able to speak to humans as me and my siblings have decided that Dragonkind shall have their own kingdom and will no longer be ruled by humans

Malygos and Sindragosa is looking forward with Balerion's goal for a kingdom exclusively for dragons. This would ensure that Magic will be heavily guarded.
