During the weeks Mr and Mrs Anthony came to know of what happened to Vivian and although it breaks their heart to hear what happened, they had no other choice but to come to terms with it and support Vivi with her decision to abort her pregnancy which was performed weeks later as planned,and as the expected results of it, she bled for several days, eventually the bleeding stopped, a relief to Vivian, and her friends.
FRIDAY MORNING
It's A Friday Morning,Vivian is out with Julia at a nearby park, they both sit in a bench as they munched on a box of crackers
JÚLIA: Seriously,I don't understand why you like this so much, they're so bland, almost tasteless
VIVIAN: I honestly don't know either, I just started craving them recently.. isn't that weird?
JÚLIA: Hmm, not so much, I mean, I remember this one time, I had this insane craving for mustard..Just mustard!
VIVIAN: Eww, that's just disgusting (she chuckled)
JÚLIA: Well it was better than plain old crackers (she laughed)
Just then Vivian gets a call from Joshua
VIVIAN: It's Joshua (she said picking up the call) Hi Joshua
JOSHUA: Hey Vivi, how are you doing?
VIVIAN: I'm doing fine
JOSHUA: You eating well?
VIVIAN: Yes Joshua
JOSHUA: And you're taking good care of yourself right?
VIVIAN: Yes,I am Dad,geez (she said rolling her eyes)
JOSHUA: (Chuckles) I'm just making sure you're okay, or can I not do that?
VIVIAN: Ofcourse you can
JOSHUA: So...are you good?
VIVIAN: I'm fine, really,thank you (she smiled)
JÚLIA: Wowww (she exclaimed taking the phone from Vivian) Joshua you should see the way she's smiling right now, you're a miracle worker huh, we've been here for over an hour and I didn't even get a chuckle,imagine that! (She laughed)
VIVIAN: Julia stop!, Give me back my phone (she demanded)
JÚLIA: Oh come on , so I can't talk to him now or what?
VIVIAN: Come on, give it!
The girls tussle back and forth on the phone and Joshua laughs on hearing them bicker
VIVIAN: Ugh, you can b so annoying sometimes (she said finally getting back her phone)..Hello?
JOSHUA: I'm still here ...
VIVIAN: I can feel you smiling Joshua, it's not funny
JOSHUA: it is actually (he chuckled) You and Julia crack me up every time
VIVIAN: Oh shut up
JOSHUA: Heh, anyways, I was calling to know if you're gonna make it to graduation.
VIVIAN: No..I don't feel like going
JOSHUA: But Vivi,you've dreamed about this day for years, don't deny yourself to live out that dream, it's only gonna happen once
VIVIAN: (sighs) I didn't do so well in finals,you know that
JOSHUA: But that doesn't matter,I mean..
VIVIAN: Well it matters to me, I'm not going,you can't change my mind
JOSHUA: ...okay, then how about you, me and Julia, go out to the movies tomorrow...how does that sound?
VIVIAN: no Joshua, I'm not gonna let you miss graduation because of me,you go and have fun
JOSHUA: (chuckles) but I can't have fun if you're not there
VIVIAN: Don't be stubborn Joshua, seriously,you should go, why would you just wanna sit and watch movies all day
JOSHUA:, Well as long as I'm with you,I wouldn't choose to be anywhere else (he replied)
VIVIAN: .....
JOSHUA: ...I'll see you tomorrow then, say hi to Júlia for me
VIVIAN: I will...
JOSHUA: And take care of yourself,okay?
VIVIAN: Okay..
JOSHUA: Bye (hangs up)
Vivian stares at the phone for a moment before a bashful smile crosses her face and she's gets lost in thoughts
JÚLIA: Uhh, Earth to Vivian??
VIVIAN: w..what, oh sorry, my mind was elsewhere (she replied putting her phone back inside her purse)
JÚLIA: Oh please, why don't you just admit you've fallen head over heels for Joshua,I mean he's a great guy,who could blame you
VIVIAN: Yeah he is but..
JÚLIA: Or, don't you like him??
VIVIAN: I do but.. I'm just not ready for that right now (She admits)
JÚLIA: It's alright Vivi, take your time..Joshua is considerate and patient,I'm sure he'll give you all the time you need
VIVIAN: I..just don't think he will much longer tho
JÚLIA: huh?, But what make you say that?
Just then their conversation is interrupted when the Doctor 'Leo Mackenzie' walks up to them
DOC LEO: Morning ladies (he greets with his bag hanging on one shoulder)
JÚLIA: Doctor Mackenzie?, What are you doing here?
VIVIAN: I called him...and drop the formalities Júlia,I know you both are dating
JÚLIA: I..I..I (she stammers surprised)
VIVIAN: I mean it's completely fine Júlia (she chuckled) you didn't have to hide it from me, I've known for a while now
JÚLIA: Oh my god,I'm so embarrassed,I'm really sorry Vivi, I didn't want you to think I was inconsiderate or selfish (she apologized)
VIVIAN: But why in the world would I think that Júlia, girl you have the right to have a life,your world doesn't revolve around me,you don't have to feel bad for anything, on the contrary I think you both make a cute couple
JÚLIA: Aww,but..but how did you know?, And why is he here?
VIVIAN: I'll let Leo Explain
DOC LEO: (Clears his throat) Well it was two days ago
TWO DAYS AGO
Doctor Leo just got off his lunch break and was informed he had a visitor who was a former patient of his in the waiting room, waiting to see him, he goes to the waiting room to see Vivian,and they both say their hello
DOC LEO: Miss Vivian, it's nice to see you again, how havs you been holding up?
VIVIAN: I'm alright Doc,I just wanted to see you for a minute,it won't be long I promise
DOC LEO: Sure, things are a bit busy here so,let's talk outside,is that okay?
VIVIAN: Sure (she replied walking out with him)
DOC LEO: I see Júlia didn't come with you (he chuckled)
VIVIAN: Oh,it's Júlia now, not Miss Pérez?
DOC LEO: oh,I.. I'm sorry,my mistake (he muttered nervously)
VIVIAN: It's fine Doctor, I know you and Julia are dating
DOC LEO: Oh..um..she told you?
VIVIAN: It wasn't so hard to figure out, you smile more when she's around and you both won't stop looking at each other, it wasn't a hard puzzle to crack (she shrugs)
DOC LEO: I..I know it's not my position to say but Júlia didn't want to get in..uh,a relationship in the first place,you were still going through alot and I'm sorry,I take full responsibility for us dating, it wasn't,I didn't..
VIVIAN: It's okay really Doctor (she smiled) you're a nice guy,you're honest and hardworking,I wouldn't choose a better guy for Julia...but I came here for other matters
DOC LEO: Oh okay..
VIVIAN: (sighs) It's either an probability...or I'm just going crazy..
DOC LEO: But talk to me, what's wrong?
VIVIAN: I...I've been having some strange symptoms lately,and I thought it was just nothing,but then I just decided,to take a pregnancy test at home,and...it came out positive
DOC LEO: Wait..what! (he exclaimed)
VIVIAN: Yeah..I had the same reaction,so I don't know,what to do, I'm just confused (she said holding back her tears)
DOC LEO: But I supervised everything,the abortion was done the right way,how could this be?
VIVIAN: I don't know...I... haven't told this to anyone,but..I'm pretty sure,the baby isn't gone (she sobs) but you know, just,to be a hundred percent on this, I'd like to take another pregnancy test...if that's possible
DOC LEO: No but Ofcourse,I agree, just to rule out any doubts
Vivian sobs gently but tears stream down her eyes and Doctor Mackenzie hold her in his arms for comfort as she cried sadly.
PRESENT DAY
JÚLIA:....And what did the test say?
VIVIAN: Doc?..
DOC LEO: (Sighs) it came out positive
JÚLIA: What!, You're pregnant?..b..but how is that possible?,Jesus, what kind of baby is this? (She exclaimed) Leo how is this even possible??
DOC LEO: Well it is actually,some kids can actually be stubborn
VIVIAN: I talked to my mom about the possibility last night and she says it's not advisable I get an abortion again,that would be putting my life in danger
JÚLIA: Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry Vivi, So, what are we gonna do now?
VIVIAN: What else?..I have any other choice but to accept this baby (she replied gloomily)
FEW DAYS LATER
Emily sits at home texting on her phone when she receives a phone call from Kathy, she hesitantly picks up
EMILY: What?
KATHY: Emily hey, where are you? (She pants)
EMILY: Why do you wanna know?
KATHY: Girl there's trouble..
EMILY: Trouble??, What are you talking about??
KATHY: I can't tell you on the phone, we need to meet, where are you??
EMILY: I..I'm home right now
KATHY: Okay, could you make it to my apartment downtown?, it's just my shift isn't over now, so I can't leave
EMILY:Okay okay, I'm coming (she replied hanging up)
Emily disturbed by the call hurries over to meet up with Kathy in her Apartment downtown
KATHY: Thank goodness you could make it (she said opening the door)
EMILY: What's wrong?, What trouble were you talking about? (She asked dropping her handbag)
KATHY: You wouldn't imagine,.. remember that guy, Mike?
EMILY: Yeah , what about him?
KATHY: Yeah,so like he's been asking about you
EMILY: But..But what for??
KATHY: Yeah, he said something about reporting you, that...you paid him to rape Vivian...is that true??
EMILY: What!,no!, Ofcourse not, he was glad when I suggested that to him, he never asked for money, that crackhead is probably broke and looking for a way to get some quick cash (she replied fuming)
KATHY: Emily...that guy is a freaking pervert, why would you tell him to do a thing like that?
EMILY: Oh come on, I just told him to have fun with her (she replied rolling her eyes) but that's not important now.. what's he thinking?
KATHY: What we did to Vivian wasn't right Emily, she must've suffered alot, I can't take the guilt anymore, I'm gonna tell everything to the cops! (She replied frantically as she turned to leave but Emily dragged her back)
EMILY: Don't forget you were the one who drugged her food, If anyone is going down, it'll be you (She warned)
KATHY: ....You know Emily, I'm glad Vivi wasn't like me, Stupidly chasing after a wild life was how I met such a horrible person like you, you think you can ruin Vivian's life like you did mine?
EMILY: Oh please Kathy, are you gonna start crying or what?,look I'm not planning on wasting my time here, remember, better don't get any funny ideas otherwise.. I'll send your little sex video to your Church's page, don't say I didn't warn you (she scowled)
KATHY: (chuckles) You're so fund of always threatening me with that video aren't you, and it almost always works...but not this time, I won't let you ruin another person's life (she replied with teary eyes)
Just then police officers emerge from the Kitchen, along with Júlia who ran quickly to grab a little camera hidden in one of the throw pillows, Emily's eyes widen in shock
EMILY: You set me up?!
KATHY: The world will be better without people like you roaming free in it (she growled)
OFFICER: Emily Lue, you're under arrest for being an accessory to the rape of Vivian Anthony, you have the right to remain silent for anything you say or do will be used against you in the court of law (The officer read her right as he placed her in handcuffs)
EMILY: B..but, Kathy was the one who drugged her food, she needs to be arrested too
KATHY: I already confessed everything so don't bother
EMILY: (Scoffs) If I get thrown in jail, Your video will be leaked, you can count on that (she whispered to Kathy)
KATHY: Well I'm ready to face the consequences (she said boldly holding back her tears)
JÚLIA: You should be ashamed of yourself Emily, how could you do this to a fellow lady, you're despicable!
EMILY: And who the heck are you?
JÚLIA: You don't need to know who I am,but I swear, I'm gonna make sure you get what you deserve,you won't be let down easy I promise you that (she said in a low growl) This video is gonna be aired on every news station my legs can take me, you're gonna regret what you did to Vivian (she said angrily facing Emily)
EMILY: What!. but wait, please..I..Bu..But what about Steven?!, You have to arrest him too!
OFFICER: Mr Walters already told us everything,and that just shows how cunning and cynical you can be
EMILY: ...Cynical?..That bastard payed you off hasn't he (she scoffed) damn it,let me go! (She screamed as she's dragged outside to the police car parked behind the building)
JÚLIA: You did the right thing Kathy
KATHY: (sighs) I did nothing, even if we all we to jail, it wouldn't take back what we did to Vivian...Tell her I'm sorry (she said as a tear drop from her eyes as she walks outside with other officer to the car as well.
Mike Bull was arrested as well on charges of rape and he's taken to the Station too along with Stephanie who willingly confessed everything to the police.
Few hours later Júlia returns home and tells Vivian all that happened as they sat together in the living room
VIVIAN: I..I'm still can't remember what I ever did to Emily to make her..do that to ne
JÚLIA: Out of envy I guess(she shrugs),she's just a bitter person,but don't worry, I'll make sure she and Mike pays for what they did
VIVIAN: Them going to jail won't take away...the trauma,the pain, and all the emotional damage I had to go through, it won't get rid of this baby either,who will be a constant reminder of that day to me...it won't bring back all the plans I had for after I finished Uni...Them going to Jail,will do nothing (she replied sadly)
JÚLIA: You're right girl,it won't do those things,I'm really sorry for what happened,but I know you can and you will get through this..it's a slow process,but you'll get there (she said with a warm smile resting an arm on her shoulders)
VIVIAN: ... Thank you (she replied somberly)
JÚLIA: You just,try to be happy, You getting like this also isn't good neither you or the baby
VIVIAN: A baby whose father we still aren't sure about yet..for all we know it could be for that scumbag that got into my room that night! (She yelled)
JÚLIA: I...I don't know what to tell you
VIVIAN: (Sighs) Right now I know I have a responsibility to take care of this baby,even though I don't want this,it's not going anywhere. My parents raised me lacking nothing,and I wouldn't want my kid to be treated any less
JÚLIA: (Gasps) oh my god, that's amazing,I'm glad you feel that way (she smiled)...and.. would you want Steven to be a part of the baby's life?
VIVIAN: No..Never!, Infact bite your tongue and throw it out (she replied angrily)
JÚLIA: Jesus Christ..(she exclaimed under her breath)
VIVIAN: I don't want that bastard anywhere near this baby, if he's the father or not, I don't give a damn!, I don't even know how he found out we lived together
JÚLIA: Must've investigated or something I guess, what surprises me is how apologetic he was,that was really weird
VIVIAN: And I DONT CARE (She replied)
JÚLIA: Well... I'll go make us dinner
VIVIAN: I'm not hungry,just make for yourself (she replied turning on the TV)
JÚLIA: (sighs) fine ... (She replied walking to the Kitchen
Not long later Joshua comes in with some bag of groceries,Julia welcomed him and takes some bags to the kitchen while Joshua joins Vivian on the couch
JOSHUA: Hey (he smiled)
VIVIAN: Hey (she replied coldly still facing the TV)
JOSHUA: Don't you wanna talk to me?
VIVIAN: I'm in a bad mood Joshua...
JOSHUA: Oh...okay..Then I guess I'll just give these Chicken dippings to Júlia, Júlia! (he called out)
VIVIAN: Chicken Dippings?? (She asked now facing him)
JOSHUA: Yeah..I actually got them for you, but since you're in such a bad mood..Júlia!!(he called out again)
JÚLIA: Yeah? (She replied walking in)
JOSHUA: I got you some chicken dippings ( he said holding out the bag )
VIVIAN: Joshua! (Vivian pouted angrily folding her arms as she snatches the bag from his hands)
JÚLIA: ohh I think I know what going on (she chuckled)
Vivian opens up the bag and finds a takeaways of chicken dippings along with other snacks
VIVIAN: You got me crackers?! (She asked happily)
JOSHUA: Yeah, it's one of your cravings isn't it?
VIVIAN: (Gasps) And it's chocolate flavored,I didn't even know they make these (she replied tearing open the box)
JOSHUA: Heh, just don't finish it all in one go, the Cashier lady is a talker, I almost grew white hair just standing there
VIVIAN: Oh, don't be so mean (she laughed smacking Joshua in the arm)
JOSHUA: (Chuckles) ..that actually hurt (he whispered under his breath as he hides his pain with a smile)
JÚLIA: Heh, you seem to be the only one who can put a smile on her face in seconds (she smiled happily walking back to the kitchen)
Joshua takes the bag of snacks from the couch and places them on the table,Vivi stares as he does for a moment before dropping down the box of crackers
VIVIAN: Why are you doing this Joshua?
JOSHUA: ...huh?
VIVIAN: I'm not your responsibility,and neither is this baby, it's not fair for you to put in so much work for me, I haven't done anything to deserve that,it's not fair to you,I mean..what will people say?
Joshua stared at Vivi for a while with a straight face before breaking it into a warm smile
JOSHUA: You know I've never cared what other people think (he Chuckles lightly as he sat beside her)... We're friends Vivian, neither your parents nor relatives are here, Júlia and I are all you have in D.C, I'm not gonna abandon you when you need me the most..you're not alone in this Vivi, I'm here for you and the baby.. whether you like it or not (he smiled)
Vivian smiles back, carefully dropping all her snacks she embraces Joshua with teary eyes. Júlia watches them both from the kitchen counter with a warm smile on her face.
