Chapter 1 - The Perfect Life.

Damon Salvatore was a strong old vampire who had been through a lot, both good and bad. For over a thousand years, his evil twin brother Damien had been inside him and he had learned the truth and gotten rid of him. He had found Mariella, his love, his savior, his everything, at least at one point he believed so. But life is full of surprises, and Damon has another wife, Mimi.

Mimi had been with him for longer, years, but because Damien did all the naughty things, he never got to spend as much time with Mimi as he would have liked. But he'd learned over the years how deeply he loved Mimi too and how their relationship was one hell of an up-and-down ride in between. But being so similar to Mimi, they fought now and then, and a real good one at that.

Mimi was the world's first, and only lab-made werewolf, she was no longer a werewolf but a multi-shape shifter, just like Damon, but Mimi had been a Flea, a resistance leader who had been waging war for decades against the wicked medical establishment and there had been defeats and victories.

Sometimes Damon just wished there was a perfect world, and he could have been in fleas with Mimi. They'd be together, and Mimi wouldn't always have the fate of the world on her shoulders. Mimi had saved the world, more than once, and always at her own expense.

Mimi was immortal. She couldn't die, but she did suffer. Mimi was fearless precisely because she was immortal. And Damon had tried to teach Mimi quite a few times that caution could be in order, but no. Mimi was a stubborn creature.

Damon was not perfect, not at all. He had once made a mistake, that mistake had torn Mimi out of his life for seven long years and it had changed so much. Mimi had been through a lot, and it had been all his fault.

It had been a long time before he could really help Mimi and she had so many terrible memories, and painful losses deep in her soul, and sometimes Damon wanted to take all of it out. But Mimi did not let him. She wanted to remember, but since he was stubborn too, and her husband, pack leader, her alpha male, he had done a lot of work so the past would remain in the past and not haunt this peculiar, wonderful creature that he had the honor to call his alpha female and his wife.

Mariella had been a God, or part of one, and had then come to earth when Damien had been torn from Damon. When he'd been sort of there when Damien had tortured Mimi, so badly that Mimi's soul had ended up on the other person's head, which meant that if Mimi hadn't been immortal, she would have died for real. And more than once.

Damon had blamed himself and tried to kill himself when God intervened. And then shown the whole truth. Mimi had tried to convince him for years that Damien was not him, but he had not believed her and that had torn their once so brilliant love apart. Now that love had come back, Damon still remembered that feeling when Mimi had let go of her love for him. That emptiness.

After that, Damon had been lost and Mariella was his anchor. Mariella listened when he spoke and he learned it helped. He still had his bad habits left, but Mariella pulled him out of such a deep abyss, helped him when he was completely lost, and taught him how to love and love well. In his long life, he had gone through some real nasty times and when he told these not-so-good times to Mariella, she listened, helped him to move on, and took all the rotten memories out of his mind.

Sometimes when memory is really nasty, and there are bad feelings, and suffering to it, memory kind of rots in one's mind. It creates a deep pocket of pus, memory pus that is all the bad feelings, all the suffering and doubts whatnot there and it is not good to have in one's mind this kind of pus pockets.

So Mariella found always if a memory was rotten, she would take it out, all the rot and put her love in place. Of course, Damon would remember what had happened but there would not be any kind of feelings anymore in that memory so that memory would go into the past, in his mind where it would be insignificant, it would fade in time like it was supposed to be.

Mimi was too prone to have her memories rotting, first of all, when Mimi was created, they built supernaturally enhanced photographic memory for her, so every memory was etched in her mind with all the feelings. All the doubts, pain, and suffering were in those memories, and time would not help Mimi like it would help anyone else.

Damon and Mariella, in fact, the whole pack had helped Mimi through centuries and find these rotten memories, these pains, sufferings and it helped her too, But Mimi was not so keen to share her past, all the bad she had gone through and Damon had learned to be patient, persistent and sometimes plain cruel when he helped his very stubborn wife.

It took him many years before he even dared to feel his love for Mimi. Mimi had others, Adam and Charles, and they had helped Mimi then whenever either he or Damien had completely abused her. They had loved her deeply and for a long time. As Damon thought of that, jealousy came to the surface, and he sighed. He was jealous, still after all of this time. He saw Adam and Charles as threats to him and Mimi.

Damon felt how happy he was, once again. They were doing well with Mimi. He felt his wife's emotions so well through their true soul-mate bond, he also felt Mariella's happiness as she lay in the sun and tanned herself. Mimi was in the shade, sitting at her table, again at her laptop, writing her memoirs or something.

Damon was just lying on a chair, sipping a drink and enjoying himself. He watched as all the versions of him, the ones that had been stored up over the years in books, pens, jewelry, and crystals, did whatever in the yard, two, five, and seven were barbecuing, four and six were setting tables, nine and ten were still mowing the lawn. Three and eight were picking berries for dessert. Mimosa and Shadow were in the pool.

Damon watched Mimi as she frowned at the computer, thought for a moment, and then started typing again. He had read Mimi's minor story, though it was thousands of pages long and Mimi didn't tell him nearly everything right away, and he watched her thoughts in case there was another terrible memory and he could help.

Mimi had been through such incredibly violent and bad experiences almost her whole life if you didn't count her human life Damon still sometimes wondered how Mimi was intact, but then he knew that love is one of the most powerful forces in the universe and it helps heal so much.

He believed that their love helped Mimi too and had helped Mimi. Mimi was the alpha female of the pack, the oldest and his alpha female. Not Charles's and Adam's, who were on the swing talking about sports or whatever. Damon didn't even want to count how long he and Mimi or he and Mariella had been together. He could say a couple of centuries, at least. And he looked forward to the centuries to come. Because they had eternity, they were immortal.

Damon got up from his chair and went inside. He took more barbecue from the fridge for the boys, grabbed a pile of plates and cutlery, and took them to the table. He took more meat and made sure that there was enough. Even his women were pregnant and they could not eat as much as usual. There would be also liquid component in the meals as well. Damon was very particular when came to nutrition during pregnancy.

Then he went over to Mariella and squatted down next to her. He put his hand on her rounded belly and felt their children there. He was happy. This was what he wanted. He had always wanted to be a father and ever since he had been turned into a vampire; he had known that his dream of being a dad would never come true, except it did, and this made his soul sing.

It wouldn't be too long before he met them for the first time. They already had nurseries ready for each mother and he had been involved in planning most of them. He wanted to be involved. Even if these children didn't spend much time with them, they would be going into another dimension to their previous children. Still, the month or two he had to look after them was magical every time. Something so perfect he couldn't believe it. They might take care of them longer, too. Sometimes when it felt like it, they had taken care of children for several months even, and when those magical babies had grown up to the point that they would be handfuls, well good time to give them to a magic house to be raised and loved too.

He said to Mariella, "Darling, dinner will be ready soon, so you can start getting up from roasting yourself."

He smiled at her. Mariella liked to tan herself and lay in the sun. She was an energy creature, so she would same time suck solar energy into her tanks, too.

Mariella sat up and said, "Well, Damon darling, I'm hungry again. Some of us here in the belly insist that Mummy eat well."

Damon smiled and kept his hand still. Here was another good reason to be a telepath. He knew his children's minds, already taught them things, his love. He helped his wife up and kissed her. Mariella started to waddle inside the house, probably taking a shower or changing clothes. Damon walked over to the pool and crouched on the edge of it.

He said, "You two, come on over here and we'll have some food in a minute. How are my little ones?"

He smiled for these two, too. Wolves were in their human shape but they had too many feline forms, but they were wolves in their mind and these two wanted to do everything together, always. They were real pack animals, too.

Mimosa and Shadow got out of the pool, both with their cute pregnant bellies. Damon put his hand on them and felt them with his mind. He loved all his children equally, and he had learned to give that love to his children while they were still in their mother's womb. He gave them lots of love and knowledge, too, teaching them who he was, and who their mother was, so even though they were taken into another realm as babies, they had knowledge and memory of his love, and their mother's love too.

Damon ushered Wolves inside too, to shower and dress little more than mere little bikinis. When Mimosa and Shadow went inside. Damon walked over to Mimi.

He wrapped his arms around her from behind and growled in her ear. "Baby, it's almost time for dinner. How far are you going already? When are you going to let me read everything so I can tell you what the problem is?"

Mimi put the computer lid down, leaned on Damon, and said, "I'm not letting you read it. You would just insist that I praise you all the time. And besides, it's only my memoirs now. I don't remember nearly everything I write and I don't want to write everything. You are not supposed to know everything. I have my secrets and I am not revealing everything. "

Damon said, "Well baby, I have pretty much read it in your mind as you write it, I like when you put little thoughts in between the scenes, but you could praise me a little more, tell more about my dashing looks, or how I am making you feel. And you know, those rotten memories will come out, like it or not. You know me and know that I am ruthless when I love you."

Mimi sighed in his arms. She leaned more into his arms, and Damon squeezed her harder. He would never want to let her go, not ever.

Damon helped his wife out of her chair, Mimi had the least time to give birth and he felt their 10 children were so clear in his mind. He gave them his love too and felt how the babies responded. Then he kissed Mimi long and passionately, feeling this deep love and trust, the bond that had formed between them, their love. And then Damon felt his soul sing again. He kept her in his grip as he helped her inside, to have some dinner with the pack, and then maybe have some fun in the bedroom, too. They were lust pack and pregnancy was not stopping their passion for each other, not in a long shot. Damon was happy. His life was now as perfect as it could be.
