He closed the door saying, "I... um, I'm sorry. This is the only place I could think of. The bathrooms here are refurbished, so, um, there's nothing you need to worry about," he said with a slight hint of nervousness in his voice.
She responded saying, "t-thanks.. I'm just glad no one saw me.. out there crying." As the reality of what had just occurred sank in, tears began to flow down her cheeks. The man gently raised his arm and used his thumb to brush away her tears from her cheek. His voice softened as he said, "It'll be alright, hey uh.. if you want to talk, I'm all ears." She muttered, "H-h-he..." her voice wavered as she struggled to find the right words, "i-it was our.. 7th anniversary and, I... I found my husband having s-s-sex in the bathroom with another woman." The man's eyes widened with genuine concern as he softly said, "I'm so sorry you had to go through that. It's not your fault, you didn't deserve this."
As he wrapped her in a tender hug, offering comfort in his warm embrace, her heart sank as she felt her phone vibrate with an incoming text. She reluctantly checked the message from her husband, and her world seemed to shatter as she read the words on the screen. "I'm sorry, I was going to tell you.. but I've lost interest in you not so long ago. I don't think our relationship will work out." she blocked him and started tearing up again. He gently pulled her back into his comforting embrace. As he tenderly wiped away her tears, he gently asked, "I'm sorry for everything you're going through. May I know your name? Mine's Adrian, and I'm here if you need someone to talk to." Her cheeks turned a soft shade of pink as she replied, her voice wavering with sadness, "I-I'm Kalista."
