Chapter 13 - CHAPTER 12: VILLAIN ARC

"BE QUIET!", I screamed my lungs out, I noticed something different about the scream, it sounded as if it had a hint of polyphony, as if two totally different voices in perfect sync. Deep down I knew what had caused this, I knew that it was the earring's doing. The Colosseum had gone silent, every single Colossal was now quiet, from Keane to the spectators. Within all the anger, there was a strong sense of guilt, I felt guilty for ever doubting Xanthe.

Anger had taken over my body to a point that I never realised the impossible I had just achieved, picking up an axe that was as big as I, if not bigger, without even breaking a sweat. It was a pretty well-crafted black battle axe, fit for a warrior, a few rusty edges and a couple of dry blood stains. It laid there as if long forgotten, even the ground had began swallowing it, all I know is that it belonged to one of my late uncle/aunt or granduncle/grandaunt who had lost their lives in this very Arena due to the battle of successor.

I could see Titus once again standing up from his sit and this time he looked shocked, I guess an outcome he wasn't expecting. The monster he had awakened was coming for every single one of them. "What a shame", I said while looking up, with the axe I chopped off my black hair that I had inherited from that bastard, both a sign of disrespect and grief, the last sign of respect that I could show mother. I wanted to show off the beautiful vibrant blue eyes that I had inherited from mother, to the Colossals that had robbed of her life and by chopping off my hair, to show that I wanted nothing to do with them. "NOW BOW BEFORE YOUR ONE TRUE KING!", I said the phrase while looking up, looking straight into Titus's dead, cold eyes, again the voices were in perfect sync. I was slowly walking towards Keane, he kneeled without hesitation, so did all the spectators and the 2 Queens of Caelum. The ability didn't seem to work on Titus, I guess his willpower was beyond extraordinary, he was the man who single handedly slayed the Hydra.

By making every Colossal kneel I had just committed the biggest act of treason, the biggest sign of disrespect towards the king of Colossals and could only be punishable by death. Colossals could only bow down to their new king, if only the old one had died. If Titus could change the rules of battle of successor, why couldn't I too make my own, I was like a young wolf ready to overthrow the old alpha. Behind Keane a familiar face stood out, a face I had not forgotten, my old friend, the commentator, had also been kneeling. I walked past Keane and went straight to him. "STAND... TAKE THIS AXE AND BASH YOUR HEAD WITH IT UNTIL I TELL YOU TO STOP!", he was trembling but still followed the instructions, he took the battle axe and bashed his head continuously until he died on the spot. "Good boy but I don't remember telling you to stop", I said while looking down on him. I then started walking towards Keane again. Keane's eyes were filled with despair but due to the ability's effect, he could not beg for his life. " Farwell brother, I guess you'll be meeting mother before me", I said before decapitating his head, just like how his father, Titus had done to his opponents in the books. I held his head up, showing Titus and the kneeling spectators before throwing it, where Titus sat.

Blood filled the Arena and I was left drenched in my own brother's blood. Titus was frowning, tears were falling from Caitriona's beautiful face, while she was still on her knees, she couldn't let out the pain due to the earring's effect. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU!", shouted Titus. "I AM THE SON OF RHEA", I said while looking up. The gate that let the fighters in, was kicked down by Xanthe, who also didn't seem to be affected by the earring's ability, in tears she ran to mother's side. The opposite gate, I could hear a hear groans, made by a Colossal who had also been kneeling, I'm guessing he/she was trying to undo the ability's effect, I couldn't see who it was, I had to get closer.
