Rain storms, water, cold nights. Akira hates evenings like this. He's in his room, noise cancelling headphones covering both of his ears as he listens to metal songs on blast. He's not a fan of loud music, but with a night like this... His parents arguing, screaming, shouting, and throwing everything they get a hold of... Metal songs helps Akira ignore all of those.
Jay-jay, Akira's older sister suddenly barged inside his room. She locked the door and rests herself on her little brother's bed. Akira didn't even notice her until she removes his headphones.
"What?" Akira asked, eyes glued to his textbook.
"Let's run away." Jay-jay suggested, her voice muffled because of her face getting buried to her younger brother's pillow.
Akira just scoffed at that and continued to make his homework. His homework isn't hard, at least for him. But, he's taking too long answering every single question because he's getting distracted by everything with each minute that passed.
"Wow, mom and dad's perfect child is actually rebelling." Akira said, earning a small laugh from her sister.
"Well, let's just say... I'm tired of always trying to make them proud. With every little mistake I do, they get disappointed. They might as well just get a divorce." His older sister rolled over in the bed, hand running through her dirty blond hair.
Akira didn't reply to that, he just looked at his sister in both surprise and disbelief. No way her sister is rebelling, it's quite unusual.
After a while, Jay-jay left his room without a word but Akira didn't mind. He continued making his homework, loud metal song playing in his headphones. Maybe he's just some bitter asshole or shit, but Akira really wishes that his parents get a divorce. All this mental abuse and trauma they're giving their children isn't normal anymore.
All those sleepless nights that Jay-jay had because she was so hungry with academic validation from her parents was something Akira wished she never did. Jay-jay regretted everything. Every sleepless nights, every disappointed scolding, every breakdowns she ever had... its all worthless for a piece of Medal and diploma that she did not even get to use because she studied a major that she didn't even agree on.
Lost in thought, Akira closed his textbook and notebooks. He took off his headphones, charged his phone and went to bed.
Akira could hear the thunder from outside their house. The loud crashing of raindrops in the roof and the cold presence it was giving. He's not scared of rain, or thunder. He's not scared of ghosts, monsters, or other paranormal shit. He's not scared of bullies who tortures him everyday in school and makes fun of him for being soft spoken.
Time flies, and it was morning. His alarm rings, exactly six ante meridiem. He gets up all groggy from sleep, hair a mess and oily from an eight hour rest.
Akira walks to his bathroom, his vision was foggy and his eyes were half-open. His hands creep around the walls and surroundings to keep his balance.
He walks over to the sink, grabs his toothbrush, adds a bit of toothpaste and cleans his teeth. After that, he takes a shower and heads out of the bathroom with only a piece of white towel covering his bottom.
White t-shirt, blue baggy jeans, white shoes, and a black blazer. That's what he wore before heading downstairs to get something for breakfast. When he reached the kitchen, he saw his parents preparing breakfast and the tension was mad sickening.
When they noticed Akira, they turned to him with the sweetest and biggest smiles ever like they never got into an argument.
"Hello, sweetie. Off for school?" Akira's mom asked.
Akira just gave his mom a quick nod before walking over to the kitchen counter where the toaster was ticking and preparing a toast. When the toasted bread was ready, it jumped a little and Akira grabbed one. He put it in his mouth and left the kitchen.
"Hey, kiddo. Are you going to wait for the bus?" His father asked. "Let me just drive you to school."
"No." Akira answered bluntly. Just in time, the bus arrived and Akira has never been so thankful of it arriving.
He didn't waste a single second and took off running to the bus. His father tried to call for him but Akira just ignored. Akira gets inside the bus, quicker than their athletic boy could ever run.
When Akira found a seat, the driver drove away from their house. He sits down in an empty space and puts on his headphones. He kept his eyes outside, and started to make fake scenarios as he usually does.
Making fake scenarios is just his way of escaping reality, okay?
But, lately Akira has been quite uncomfortable with making fake scenarios on the bus. He feels like someone could read his mind and it troubles him. Especially since his mind was full of weird shit.
When they arrived at school, Akira was the last one to get off the bus. As per usual.

The bell rang, signalling all students and teachers that class is starting. Akira was in the bathroom, face bruised and swollen. Just as usual, those bastards went all out with hurting him. It's not new anymore, but he's definetely tired of all this shit.
He washes his face with the water as his blood dripped in the sink. After the bleeding stops, Akira dried his face with the face towel he started bringing to school after countless times of getting beaten to a pulp. He also changed his white shirt to a black one. He exits the bathroom and walked to class.
When Akira gets to class, he got scolded by his teacher for being twenty minutes late. He can't blame her though. He is late.
"How many times have I told you, Mr. Hinatsuru? Come to school early, or on time." Mrs. Henna sighs in disappointment.
Akira was an honor student. He always has high tests on exams, quizzes and his projects never fail to amaze teachers. Yet he's always late.
"I will let you off today. We have a quiz, go take a seat." Mrs. Henna said and Akira did as he was told to.
He went to his seat and sits down, not saying a single word as he was given a piece of test paper. He takes out his pen and an answer sheet and started answering.
The whole class was quiet and Akira was thankful of that. The quiz wasn't difficult but Akira got stuck in a question. He let it wait and answered the rest of the questions before going back to that one unanswered question he has.
_______
Akira was fine with having friends, in fact, he loved having people around him that understands him and doesn't make fun of him. He actually has four friends. They suffer the same things as him. Getting bullied and all that but they don't really have bad parents or toxic households. What sucks for them is school but for Akira? Both home AND school.
"Okay, so... I heard that Kaela has a crush on one of the honor students." Christian gossips, his expression was filled with disgust and disbelief.
Akira and his friends were in the cafeteria, lunch time just started and they were at their usual table, eating the usual food provided by the school.
"Kaela is literally your older sister." Akira reminded him. "Why the hell do you hate her?"
Christian scoffs and rolls his eyes at Akira. "Just admit it, you like her."
"Why wouldn't I?" Akira comes back with a chuckle, earning a disgusted look from his friend Christian.
"No, seriously, why wouldn't he? Kaela is literally so pretty." Rhi agrees and shrugs her shoulder. Christian looks at her like she's some kind of a disgusting creature.
"Kaela is such a bitch. That pink hair doesn't evens suit her. And she's always hanging around with that boy Ren." Christian leans his back on the chair.
Akira looks at Christian, seemingly thinking about something before he suddenly stood up and took his things surprising his friends.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Yelena asks in concern but Akira didn't say a word.
"You okay?" Kio asks, also concerned and worried that his friend just suddenly went quiet and takes away his things.
Akira walks off, his three other friends following behind. The truth is, nothing is wrong. Akira just wants to make his friends paranoid and worried. When Akira reached the school halls, he stopped in his tracks and looked at his friends who are concerned and worried.
"Are you okay?" They all asked at the same time, but no one bothered to jinx it.
"Yeah. I just wanted to mess with the four of you." Akira smiled teasingly earning an eye roll from Rhi and Yelena, a scoff from Christian and a chuckle from Kio.
This kind of circle of friends is actually something Akira enjoyed. No fake shit, no one gets offended by a small joke and no one gives a fuck if you're famous or not.
