"Auntie..."
Mia's childish voice came from the other end of the screen, warming Alla's heart.
"Mia, did you miss your auntie?"
"Miss..."
After nodding her head, Mia held up her phone and twirled around to show the background.
Then she leaned in close to the screen, covered her little mouth with her hand, and whispered:
"Auntie, the weird uncle took me to the cemetery, I saw your photo here."
"But, the weird uncle said the person in the photo isn't you, it's my mommy..."
"Auntie, is the person lying under that tombstone really my mommy?"
Mia fluttered her long, slightly curled eyelashes innocently, gazing at the auntie in the screen.
Looking at Mia's pure and innocent little face, Alla's heart clenched painfully for a moment.
She didn't know if she was feeling sympathy for Mia, or if it was her sister's heart aching upon seeing her own daughter.
