Chapter 40 - 16:Going back

.

Ryoichi heard her words and true enough, he felt a sudden appearance of Ayesha's Chakra signature in his Haki range, probably teleporting here like them.

Ryoichi silently moved outside the house at the woman's signal without saying anything but the fact that he didn't bother placing any expression on his emotionless face to manipulate her showed his thoughts on the situation.

Ryoichi reached outside and came face to face with a small clearing beside a riverside. He looked towards the northwest as Ayesha walked out between the dense forest trees.

"How did you get here?" She asked with a frown, but Ryoichi didn't reply as he was not in the mood to play.

Without making any motion Ryoichi appeared behind her with a puff and stabbed at her heart. Ayesha was taken back by the action but quickly recovered. Her body became light particles and instantly moved to Ryoichi's original position.

Ryoichi didn't let the unique Jutsu deter him as he substituted again and attacked her, but the situation didn't change as she teleported or more like instantaneously travelled again.

Feeling his low Chakra dwindling even more Ryoichi stopped holding back.

He opened his Temporal Perception and reinforced his body with lightning elements Chakra while simultaneously casting Haste with his Kekkai Genkai.

Ryoichi substituted behind Ayesha once again and punched out while Ayesha activated herJutsu as well.

Ryoichi saw her body turn light particles and felt his punch would not connect again, so he forced his fist to speed up just enough to land on Ayesha. But even then Ryoichi felt his bones crack on the impact. He watched as his fist destroyed Ayesha's armour and sunk deep into her chest, collapsing it.

And only then he saw Ayesha's body launched away, going through trees after trees before colliding with a large boulder and stopping.

Ryoichi approached Ayesha while sending a pulse of Iryō and Natural energy through his hand to quickly mend the bone. He reached there and saw Ayesha's half-dead body as she struggled to raise her head to meet his eyes.

Creating a high-pressurised water blade to end her misery, Ryoichi drew his hand sideways, to his other shoulder, preparing to behead her but stopped when Ayesha's sister called out.

"Let me finish her." She said as she stopped beside Ryoichi and looked at her sister who looked back with bloodshot eyes.

"Oh, my dear sister. I hope you don't resent me…" Ayesha's sister said with a kind smile before suddenly breaking into laughter.

"Hahaha~ who am I kidding you hated me when I was always kind to you. Did you realised I was faking everything…? Nah you are too dumb for that!" She mocked Ayesha and put her heel on her collapsed chest.

She applied slight pressure inciting a painful scream from Ayesha.

"Ani…sha… why…?" Ayesha asked desperately, her prideful and narcissistic self melting away as her current predicament sank in.

"HAHA~ that's the expression! Beg Ayesha BEG! I might let you live… of course after enslaving your soul! HAHA!!!"

Anisha laughed and started grinding Ayesha's chest with her heels. She kept torturing and mocking Ayesha until Ryoichi interrupted, disturbing her fun.

"Ohh! You're still here. Sorry, I forgot." Anisha gave a fake apology and retreated back before bringing out a small device. She activated the device which blipped three times before sending out a strong green pulse.

"Done." She said after a few seconds which prompted Ryoichi to check his Time Machine.

While Ryoichi checked his device, Anisha walked back towards Ayesha but before she could take even a step, she saw a black shadow from her side and *BOOM* everything went dark. She died without even knowing how.

Ryoichi retracted his stretched hand back while checking the Time Machine. He without paying any attention to Anisha's headless corpse sent a pulse of Iryō and Natural energy to his other hand to quicken its natural regeneration as well.

After confirming the status of the machine, Ryoichi quickly set the time and activated the device without giving any heed to Ayesha who was looking at her sister's corpse in surprise.

As Ryoichi entered the portal it immediately closed leaving behind a devasted forest by two of Ryoichi's Temporal speeded attacks.

Amidst the dead silent forest with rhythmic painful groans of Ayesha, an old woman suddenly appeared in the air.

The old woman looked weak and frail like someone with one foot in their grave but the brightness of her sharp gold eyes relayed another massage.

"Sigh~," The woman sighed causing the space surrounding her to tremble from the sheer amount of Chakra released from her single breath.

Her brilliant gold eyes turned red as three tomoe appeared and started rotating in them. The rotating tomoes spun faster and merged into a gorgeous spiral pattern.

Ayesha's bloodshot eyes went blank for a moment before she fell unconscious. The old woman gave Ayesha a look and sighed again. Her spiral pattern spun again and became multiple rings with her eyes turning purple.

The old woman looked at Ayesha's unconscious body which rapidly started to heal and once she completely healed, the old woman's eyes changed colours once more.

Nine tomoes appeared in her now red spiral eyes.

The old woman closed her eyes and took a deep breath, causing the wind's direction to change in a few dozen-kilometre radius. Her beautiful eyes shot open and shone with unimaginable power and tremendous Chakra that caused the very Fabric of Reality to tremble. Her left eye bled as she tried to cast another ability with her Doujutsu but before she could someone appeared behind her. It was the projection of Ryoichi's future self.

"You know you will permanently lose eyesight in that eye if you use that ability, right?" The projection asked, causing the old woman to turn back and give a grandmotherly smile.

"Great-grandpa, it's been a while you graced me with your presence."

"Answer the damn question, Aina." The projection said as an annoyed expression marched on his ever-calm face.

"Haha~ sorry-sorry" She replied with a chuckle before her expression turned solem. "Anyway, yeah, I know would lose my eyesight, but at this point I don't really care. I'm just a living fossil surviving on expensive life-expanding medicines." The old Aina continued as a look of regret flashed on her old face which didn't go unnoticed by Ryoichi's projection.

"You know my offer of Immortality still stands, right?"

"And they say you never repeat the same mistake twice, but I guess all those historians were wrong since you still didn't learn despite your three previous failures."

"Huh? What do you mean I failed? It's just my bad luck for having such stubborn women in my life! Who declines Immortality for stupid shit reasons like wanting to grow old with my loved ones, or something like not wanting to see my daughter outgrow me and even more ridiculous of wanting to spend the rest of her existence with a father I never met in the pure world. Aghhh fuck! It's all that half-blind half-dead Uchiha's fault. If I get one more chance to travel back I'd love to slap my emo self for saving that edgy clan." The projection replied to Aina's taunt with a frustrated tone and crossed his arms in annoyance. But the fleeting look of hurt and sadness that crossed his gold eyes wasn't missed by her.

Aina knew how much her great-grandfather loved his mother and her great-grandmother and grandmother. The three most important women of his life. His mother, wife and daughter.

He begged them multiple times to change their decision, but they didn't.

"You know Grandpa I don't want Immortality, I just want to correct my wrongs and stabilise the Senju clan, and… probably fix my broken relations with my children," Aina said with eyes full of melancholy.

"Hmm…" Ryoichi's projection placed his transparent hand on Aina's shoulder, causing her to embrace him and cry.

"It's all my fault, you know! If only I hadn't been so busy building my own legacy and had given them my time and affection growing up, they wouldn't have turned into such selfish, power-hungry people."

"It wasn't your fault." Ryoichi's projection consoled Aina causing her to complain more like a 10-year-old despite being well above 300.

"Hey Grandpa…" Aina spoke with an embarrassed face.

"Hmm?" Ryoichi hummed and looked down to Aina's eyes.

"How does it feel to be around and see your child grow?" She questioned.

"How should I describe, hmm..? If I have to say in a word then it would be contentment. Annoying but contentment."

"Grandpa that's two words," Aina commented while backing out from the projection's embrace.

"Haha~ that's the reason people get annoyed with you, miss know it all. Anyway you're still gonna do this?" The projection teased before changing the subject as he felt the buildup Chakra in Aina's eyes.

"Yes, I have to remove every trace of your past self even if I have to rewrite the reality itself and force the timeline to follow its natural course, we can't afford other great forces detecting irregularity in this timeline or else they will try everything thing in their power to come to this exact time point and apprehend your past self before he changes anything. And we wouldn't be able to stop them less we want to start another War." Aina explained causing the projection to sigh.

"And you know the current Humanity has no one to lead them through that War." She finished as a pulse of red Chakra released from her left eye, starting to erase every traces of Ryoichi and fixing the Timeline back to its recorded course.
