~Konoha, Year 33~
.
Ryoichi returned to his house after the spar, he didn't spare any thoughts on humiliating the future Hokage and Sannins as he had far better things to do, like research on the broken Jutsu he has acquired recently- EIGHT GATES.
Ryoichi had been observing Dai for quite a while now. Dai is also one of the reasons Ryoichi believes that Chakra quality can be improved.
Ryoichi remembers when he first started watching Dai, the man was only a genin level in Chakra quality-wise, but that changed after he acquired EIGHT GATES which was quite easy to acquire since it was labelled as a rejected technique.
The EIGHT GATES was a failure because no one has ever managed to master the technique, even learning the basics of the technique took years of hard work and dedication not to mention pain… pain so bad that even Shinobis with the strongest of wills left the technique halfway.
Ryoichi himself had tried the technique stupidly after being influenced by half of Naruto fanfics from his previous life.
Yeah, the results weren't pretty, he nearly destroyed his body and potential. And healing his torn muscles, broken bones, and burst veins was painful to say the least.
That was the first time Ryoichi lost himself in anger after his mother's death. He cursed himself for hours for stupidly believing in fanfics. If it was his own idea he wouldn't be that angry, but he idiotically believed in some half-hearted written characters.
Fortunately, that incident deepened his understanding of EIGHT GATES and indirectly Chakra itself.
Through that incident, Ryoichi realised why no one other than the Konoha's beastly duo of father and son managed to master the technique.
There is a reason why a normal Shinobi could only use 20% of their full power. The human body wasn't designed to pump so much energy in the first place. It's true humans have evolved over a thousand years since the Chakra was introduced in their system, but ultimately their core still remained human. They are not Otsutsukis whose body's strength is directly proportional to the amount of Chakra they are carrying.
When a normal Shinobi opens EIGHT GATES with both Jonin level Chakra quality and quantity they directly explode or cripple themself. Their body is not strong enough to carry that much Chakra.
That's the reason Dai and Gai are special cases- their narrow Chakra pathway and reservoir don't let them have Chakra quantity bigger than a Genin's, they could only increase their quality with EIGHT GATES but that doesn't make their achievements any less impressive because the lower Chakra quantity takes far higher efforts and time, not mention the longer period of painful adaptation.
Frankly speaking, they were Willpower monsters.
Now all this doesn't mean Ryoichi gave up on this nerfed but still a cheat Justsu. The EIGHT GATE is still the only Jutsu Ryoichi knew which could improve Chakra quality hence once innate talent. Even if he doesn't use it, he has to modify it to make his subordinates break their Chunin limits.
The possible theory Ryoichi came for to tackle the problem of Chakra overflow is the Tenketsu points or Chakra release points.
There are 361 Tenketsu points size of a needle's tips that are impossible to see and observe with the naked eye. The EIGHT GATES also uses them as a base to work.
So, Ryoichi thought about creating a circulation method that releases excess Chakra from these Tenketsu points more naturally unlike normal cases where they are forced to release Chakra to stop the EIGHT GATE users from exploding.
Of course, doing something like that is easier said than done after all normal Jonin can only use the Tenketsu points of their hands and feet even Ryoichi with his exceptional Chakra control could only use half of the Tenketsu points in his body. And from what he remembers only Hyugas can use all.
"Sigh~ I should stop here and eat something before taking a proper sleep. I will be returning to frontline tomorrow…" Ryoichi muttered and slowly walked out of his underground research.
Before taking this mission Ryoichi was dispatched to the frontline with Oni's team. They only got a few days to cool off their heads and nerves from continuous slaughter and madness.
The frontline isn't a pretty place, the sheer amount of despair, fear, sadness, anger and other negative emotions could overwhelm a normal person from Ryoichi's previous world in seconds. And the Shinobis also get affected.
So every Shinobi gets taken out of the frontline periodically to cool off and remember what they are fighting for… honestly speaking it's a very meticulous way of brainwashing the soldiers, reminding them on the brink of mental collapse that they are fighting to defend their loved ones and their homes.
'Tobirama… if you hadn't died what else could have you done to further solidify Konoha's system.' Ryoichi thought while eating his dinner.
'No the question I should be asking is how could a Shinobi of his calibre die to a bunch of elite Jonins and low Kage's. Tobirama is peak Kage who with his unique Jutsu mastery and genius tactical mind can even go toe to toe with the likes low-Super Kage like Pain, so him dying doesn't make sense…'
'I can believe the FLYING THUNDER GOD wasn't useful in that situation since it still can't teleport the user to long distance, but still Tobirama has many other trump cards. In Anime, it could be written off as a bad writing, but this is reality… It should take thousands of trained Shinobis to take down Tobirama as it did with the third Raikag-.'
Ryoichi's thoughts suddenly got interrupted by someone suddenly appearing in his passive Haki range.
*Knock-knock*
Ryoichi calmly stood and opened the door as he knew who was behind the door. The moment he did, two scrolls came flying at him, which he caught easily.
Ryoichi didn't look for a preparator as he felt him leaving his passive range. He simply walked back in and closed the door before starting to read the scrolls.
"Such an ingenious way to train the Elements…" Ryoichi mused as he got completely immersed in the scroll and forgot about his "proper" sleep… again for a hundredth time.
.
The next morning came and only when the sun rays hit his face did Ryoichi realise his blunder. He looked at the scattered papers with rough scribbles and sighed.
'Ahh shit…'
Ryoichi stored the scrolls in his pouch and burned the all research carefully before preparing to leave.
He packed all his belongings in storage scrolls and sent a pulse of Iryō-Jutsu to heal his accumulated physical stress. Unfortunately, he couldn't do the same for mental fatigue, but that didn't matter since he had been building his sleep resistance for a year now, so he could go for a few days before his performance starts to drop.
"You're late," Oni commented as Ryoichi arrived at the departure point.
"Yeah… sorry."
"Hey at least try to sound genuine." One of the Oni's squad members said, but Ryoichi ignored him and scanned the members. He noticed the Anbu members giving off sharp feelings, all their previous fatigue and mental stress had completely gone in this week.
'What an effective method…' Ryoichi praised Tobirama's method as he continued scanning.
If Ryoichi excludes himself, Oni's squad had 10 members like any other Anbu squad, Each member stood in their Anbu uniform and armour while donning unique masks. The squad had an innate dangerous aura surrounding them that gave their opponents chills.
"Are you done?" Oni interrupted Ryoichi's observation as he motioned everyone to move.
"Oni-san, what is our mission this time?" Ryoichi questioned while following Oni.
"Like always… Infiltration, Interrogation, Information, and… Assassination." Oni answered flatly.
"That doesn't answer anything…"
"It does… It means our mission is to do everything to give advantage to our troops on the battlefield." Oni answered with an oblivious tone which quietened Ryoichi.
Ryoichi realised that he wouldn't get any information, so he didn't question more and followed Oni silently the rest of the way.
