Chapter 3 - 3 weeks later

The time in the morning was just before the day started to run hot.

I found myself up with my Mother. I had been there since early in the morning. There she lay In her bed; she was burning up As sweat dripped down her brow. I quickly put a wet cloth over her head she couldn't speak she was so ill and she tensed and shivered at my touch. 'My heart ached a bit'

Hika and Hina were with her as well. 'Shinmon's youngest siblings there size and frame of mind stayed the same over the years.'

"She'll get through it !" Hina said

"Yeah! She'll beat the hell out of this sickness!" Hika added as usual. It was these times there curtness and boldness were soothing, I smiled weakly. "Yeah," I spoke a bit calmer then I was before.

Before I knew it I heard the clanging of the Bell!

INFERNAL INFERNAL!

I turned swiftly as my whole body tensed Shinmon wasn't here for this. It was his duty to send them off.

I quickly got up I had already had my Katana hilted to my side for a time like this. I gulped down the fear nor Shinmon or Hiro were present to guide me. I ran my way out of the house to where I might smell or see the smoke or flames of this infernal.

'I could hear around me as the village people spoke out concerns that Shinmon wasn't here for the festival the end of one's life who resided here.'

Though there would be no festival I would give this infernal this human being The release they needed, for their body could no longer withstand this.

I could smell the smoke and I could feel my eyes start to tear up.

I then saw smoke shudder above the rooftops.

There! They are in the marketplace I went on my way down what felt like whirling streets.

As I Made my way to this infernal

I then looked up at her this creature this person, she was fighting with what was left to hold onto.

"Then their words pierced through my mind"

I heard their voices they sounded mournful.

"You'll know when, When you're ready"

It was Konro and my Mother.

Her body loomed in flames she was throwing heaps of flaming debris around; As if she were a child throwing a fit.

Before I could react she had thrown a bit at me it quickly grazed my hand.

She alone was there the fear of loss. The fear of the flames of consuming you; it was the loneliness the separation that the two would nie have their paths cross in this life again.

That stung like an unwanted ache in her heart.

That is what kept her spark aflame!

Her fire burned I felt coldness go throughout out my hands where the fire had blasted my hands. Then I realized that the feeling of a deep sadness she gave tarried away at my heart. And at that, my hand did not feel the pain.

'At first I fought to speak to her'

"COME ON, FIGHT WITH ALL YOU'VE GOT, LET THEM ALL KNOW YOU FOUGHT VALAINTLY AND I SHALL GIVE YOU AN HONORABLE DEATH."

I spoke with the best I could for her life was going to Peter out before her very consciousness this was going to be it.

The girl then started with all she moved swiftly in her advances . She almost loomed over like the pressure that kept her alive.

At first the flames the burning hot sensation all around was

overwhelming as I dodged again and again.

Her hand almost grazed the side of my face I quickly swerved away.

I then felt myself Recall all the years I had trained under the sword I had wielded it all this time It was only honorable she be slain with the very thing that Kept my faith.

She continued her advances they were fierce she had intended for, me to fight with my best.

'And with that I would give her my all!'

The blade then pierced right through her enflamed heart.

'It was time for a farewell'

She stood for a few moments she had reached out her arms.

I came close, Close enough that I was right in front of her head her form had now diminished to the size of a child.

I then saw as I closed my eyes; it was her it was as if her heart pounded with the spring breeze and open sun.

There the ones she loved she had met again before her.

I felt her gratitude and the flame of her of her life dissipate.

I sighed heavily there was nothing left of her.

My body then felt weak all over. I came down to my knees as a feeling of grief swept over me as the wind passed through me it was if she was letting me know she was where her heart belonged.

I then felt my throat choke up.

"thank you for holding up"

I then felt my vision fail me as I lost all senses.

For a short time I could hear or see a thing but I could only smell of the building burning.

My body was being carried.

"he- hello?"

"You did well" 'an unfamiliar voice'

I then opened my Eyes; I still couldn't quite see who was carrying me.

" Are you taking me back To Hiro"

I spoke referring to my Mother.

"Yes, I am" He spoke

"You must be one of Men who works with Shinmon during the festivals.

He then spoke with a little excitement.

"Indeed, I thank you for the deed you did back there"

"Though I know normally Master would have been there, I wouldn't mind working for you either"

He spoke proudly.

To who I might add holds to me this esteem?

"Just call me Kotetsu"

He said

Before I knew it I was back home

I was set down on the the porch walkway.

I then saw Kotetsu's face he had a ponytail with dark brown hair.

His eyes were round chocolate brown with a calm glint in them.

He bowed in respect, "Thank you very much Ma'am for the deed you did out there"

He spoke as the words seems to

burst out of him.

" it is my pleasure!" I bowed slightly.

'Hiro! I should be with her'

As Kotetsu started to walk away.

I quickly stumbled into the house

There I saw my mother there she sat on the seating matt next to the table.

She smiled as she looked almost as if her Mother's will had shook the cold right out of her.

"Come Tomoe"

I then sat down beside her.

"You did well Yes?"

She spoke wearily

Just then a memory shot through me.

It was father he would often cradle mother's head when she had gotten this way.

"Yes, dear mother"

I then reached my hands to her head.

"May I?"

Hiro hesitated for a moment.

She then lay her head in my lap

She then reached up to touch my cheek. ; "You look more and more like your Father each day"

She smiled earnestly as she started to fall asleep.

'It was time to tell her'

"Mother" her Sea blue eyes opened

Attentively.

She held her hands around my arms as my I cradled her head.

I'm going to bring back Father.

My Mother then searched my eyes for a moment.

She then looked into my eyes calmly.

"If that it was what you wish to do; I will Support you."
