Chapter 5 - Teacher.

"Hello sir..." Brunas had a bad day and was still looking for a teacher who could mentor him; therefore, he was unsure of when this free recruitment would end for him.

But at this point, he was beginning to lose confidence in himself because he knew that he needed to enroll in a renowned institution for beast tamers in order for a commoner like him to survive and grow strong in this world.

Many teachers had rejected his partnership with the fire salamander, and he had been advised to get rid of it and make a new pact with another monster.

However, none of them were aware that this fire salamander was special and that he had his own motivation for keeping the pact between them.

"I see! You are already giving up, Huh!" Brunas heard a chuckle. He watched the man, who looked to be in his late teens, walk up to him, carrying a girl he knew from high school.

Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine that he would run into her again in this way, but she still struck him as odd.

"Good morning, Sir." In spite of the fact that Kai was essentially hanging by a thread on the advice of these teachers regarding his future, Brunas' tone remained the same as he greeted Kai back with the utmost respect.

"Good, I recognize your name, Brunas; if it is alright with you, I would like to take you under my wing as a disciple. All you have to do is sign this form, and we will have a formal teacher-disciple relationship."

To cut to the chase, Kai presented the document, and the other party appeared to be acting swiftly as well, signing it directly and without asking any questions.

"Good, with this, I have three students reporting to me, and I only need two more to get teacher status." When Kai heard a collision sound coming from the tent area's outer circle, he placed the document inside his spatial ring and turned to listen.

"It sounds like a fight!" Brunas murmurs as Kai nods in agreement and instructs the two of them to follow him as they move toward the scene of the fight so they can observe what is happening.

'Since this event is being held by Central Institution, those who wish to trouble Central Institution will undoubtedly try to cause a commotion at this time, but this is truly stupid to fight near teacher residential area.'

Kai muttered when he noticed Silas also heading out there, but other teachers from the different Institute only stood their laughing at something.

When Kai arrived, he discovered that not much was there other than a group of two children fighting, each of whom had their monster out and was using it to attack the other with great force while showing no regard for the other's safety.

Given that the two boys engaged in the fight at the center of everyone's attention were High School prodigies they had heard about from others, Brunas and Linger also observed the altercation with a hint of surprise.

Each of their monsters was already at the top of the level 2 spectrum, and their attacks were sufficiently potent to cause those common people to be affected by their mana waves.

"Kai!" Silas and Kai only gave each other a nod before they decided to interrupt.

Kai and Silas felt the same as the other two children as they began to unleash their strongest blows, so they finally gave up trying to control their speed and sprinted in between the kids' blows.

Kai was left to deal with a monster that had a giant-sized body, but instead of 2 hands, the creature had 6 arms and 6 eyes on their body, giving them a frightening appearance in addition to their rock-like muscles and skin.

While the name [Hexoculus] refers to the menacing shadow cast by those six eyes, their physical attack-based moves and destructive abilities were what made them famous in the field of monster training.

"Sima!!!" As the youngster watched the towering monster sprint toward him, Kai's figure materialized in front of him.

He then called out to his partner, who made a stunning entrance with a burst of electric field and took the brunt of the attack without moving an inch from his position like a tower.

"Huh!!!" Brunas and Linger were shocked because it was obvious that they had missed Kai's movement and Sima's appearance in this situation. '

But when Sima used her strength to deflect a special attack from a powerful beast with a careless blow, the two of them were astounded by the outcome and could not help but express their shock.

Even for a level 5 beast, facing an elemental charge attack like that would require mana strengthening, but Sima did not use anything other than his physical stats to pull off something like that.

Silas whistled as he observed the unmoving figure of Sima. He wondered when Sima and Kai had grown to be so powerful.

"This is not a fish market where you can cause a commotion for your own just cause. If you have something to say, we will take this up with the teacher committee." Both of them felt threatened and kept their mouths shut.

"So, will anyone of you will try to explain the reason for both of you to start fighting like this..." After calming them down, Kai finally smiled and brought out the reason both of them were fighting for.

"I was just teaching that guy to know his place." The aggressive boy, whose Hexoculus Kai had stopped, spoke softly as he observed the other group, with its partner being a Zephyr-Lupus, a silver-haired wolf standing on two feet and gazing at the adversary with cunning eyes.

It was, however, being held back by a binding spell of the ice variety cast by Silas, who did not even summon his partner to deal with it.

"As I had said, that is not something for you to decide, and I will act on my own, so try stopping me at the very best."

The boy appeared to be having trouble breathing, but Kai thought that he had the right attitude for defying authority and had the true makings of a genius among all the students he had seen.

Kai also turned to look at the other person, who appeared to be raging with rage and hatred—something that members of the aforementioned family would never lack.

The boy's voice was firm throughout. 'It seemed that this case is going to be an interesting one.' As he continued to stand to the side and watch, Kai reasoned that as long as they did not fight, he could not do anything to stop their joking, so it was okay for him to watch the show.

'Big brother, they are starting at it again...' When Linger was about to speak to Kai. She was a little taken aback as she observed Kai's expression and realized that, so long as they continue to use physical force, Kai has no intention of stopping their fight.

'Maybe Silas, Sir.' Linger turned to face the other party after that and saw that he, too, was a member of the same flock and was grinning amusedly as he watched them.

"These two are really teachers." They could only watch as the two parties continued to argue as they realized it was all for a girl's attention.

Brunas muttered the same thing that Linger was thinking in her mind, and then Kai and Silas turned to take them away after snatching away their justification.

Along with Silas' support, Kai reasoned that they would have an easier time communicating effectively in this situation because he looked after the wolf kid, who was a commoner, and Silas looked after the other party, who had some sort of family backing.

"Teacher..." Wilton spoke. He was the wolf man, and he was accompanying Kai as they made their way to the nearby hotel for the discipline lecture.

"I will not criticize you for doing that; after all, it is really upsetting to see all the nice and sweet girls swooning over those types, so I have nothing to say about your action. The strategy you employed to take down that man, however, disappointed me a little."

Wilton became silent as Kai spoke to him abruptly, and Brunas and Linger also looked at Kai with amused smiles on their faces. They too were taken aback, but they also realized that they might grow accustomed to this kind of behavior from Kai.

"If they get back at you, you could be fine. However, what if he were to trouble your family or another close relative by using his family connection? Then what you could have done with the little amount of strength of yours."

Kai turned serious, as the boy also felt a little hesitant to answer that question but kept his words inside his stomach without much to say.

"So, I jumped in the right place at the right time, given that after this, you will have witnesses to give you assistance if something were to happen in the future."

In essence, Kai was stating that he had his back and that, if necessary, he would intervene to support his parents in fending them off rather than engage them directly.

In the meantime...

Silas was brainwashing the other kid for being useless and shaming his family name.

As he ignited the spirit of fire, he was also preparing the student to come study with him and develop a friendly rivalry with the wolf kid because they would both be attending the same university and would have the opportunity to engage in direct conflict without outside interference.

Of course, he propagated the idea that people of lower social standing believe that children from noble families are only brilliant because of their support, and he forced him to attempt the rivalry using his own effort rather than using his parents' means.

Despite never engaging in conflict over women or other issues, Kai and Silas were once the same. But they still had that rivalry with each other.

Looking at each other's growth, Kai was fueled by how Silas handled the other kid without involving his partner.

The same is true for Silas, who sensed Sima's burgeoning power and could see that Kai was getting stronger and stronger, which fueled his anticipation for their upcoming confrontation.
