(Rai's POV)
.
Still, I never expected her to show such concern for Elza.
However, it felt nice to know she cares for her.
.
It's way past midnight, but for some reason, sleep seemed to elude me. My mind's all wired up.
Perhaps it was the lingering thoughts of the day that kept my mind active.
So before I hit the bed, I thought of taking a quick peek at my Skill panel.
"Skills."(Rai)
I whispered softly, calling the System.

As I look at the transparent window screen before me, I can see the skills I have and their matching [Y.Exp] numbers.
As stated in the System Note, [Y.Exp] refers to the years of experience I obtained from the System after successfully completing my integration procedure with the Skills.
If you are wondering why the first skill [Death Aura] is locked?
Then don't expect any answer, cause even I don't know why.
It was like that from the beginning, and when I asked, the System, like always, didn't answer.
Nonetheless, it is the Skills I was most curious to explore, as it was gifted from the Beginners Pack and was placed in a different category that wasn't present-[Special Skill].
Though I have a few ideas what this skill might be from its name and my fantasy knowledge, those are still just some theories and cannot be confirmed until the Skill is unlocked.
So for now, let's ignore it.
Ignoring the locked skill for now, as I move on, I see that all of my skills are divided into the same categories as when I was offered to pick them.
The Skills under [Short-Range Combat], [Semi Combat], and [Non-Combat], each having an [Y.Exp] value of 2.
But then there are these two skills [Archery] and [Writing and Illustration] with an extra [Y.Exp] of 1, making it a total of [Exp.Y] of 3.
A question lingered in my mind, and I furrowed my brows in thought.
"But why an extra [Y.Exp] value of 1?
"And why only in [Archery] and [Writing and Illustration] at that?"(Rei)
I wondered aloud, trying to understand the basis for the system's decision.
Though the System didn't answer me, I am certain that the reason behind an extra [Y.Exp] of 1 is only in [Archery] and [Writing and Illustration].
Then it hit me. Is it because of the knowledge I have of literature?
In my previous life, I had immersed myself in books and literature, gaining a deep understanding of storytelling and language.
Yet, despite my knowledge, I had never taken the step to write anything of my own.
I realised that the system's assessment might have taken into account both my existing expertise in literature and my lack of practical experience in writing.
It seemed like a fair evaluation, acknowledging my potential while recognizing the need for growth.
This is the only conclusion I could come to after thoroughly considering all possible explanations.
And it must be the same with the skill [Archery]
It's clear that my past self never attempted Archery, making it even more apparent that my past experiences are playing a role in shaping my current skills.
Considering it was more than 10 long years of journey in Archery in my past life, I understand that it was calculating the time periods I have in Archery and not how long I have practised daily for a few dedicated times(:hours).
I also understand that the standard of Archery is far superior in this world compared to my previous world.
Nonetheless, it is satisfying to see that my past life experiences have had some effect on my current skills.
It's evident that my skills from my previous existence are influencing my current abilities.
I'm convinced that my extra 1 of [Y.Exp] in [Archery] and [Writing and Illustration] cannot be attributed to anything else.
The years of experience in learning different fighting methods and self-defence plans are now a part of me, even though I didn't personally perform them.
The same goes for [Horsemanship], [Stealth and Subterfuge], [Hunting and Tracking] and [Writing and Illustration] were the Skills I may not have personally engaged in these activities, the experiences gifted by the System have integrated into my mind, making me known in these areas.
But having all this experience doesn't mean I can fully implement all the Skills with ease.
-Experience doesn't equate Proficiency and Mastery over the Skill-
For instance, despite my experience in Archery, my physical body still needs to catch up.
I can't shoot an arrow that reaches a target miles away, no matter how much experience I have.
But if there is anything I have gained thanks to the cumulative wisdom of these acquired years, then it would be to remain calm and mature, handling situations with a sense of poise, concealing any internal turmoil beneath a serene exterior.
However, I am ready to put in the required effort to use these Experiences I have gained.
.
"Missions…"(Rai)
With a mix of exhaustion and frustration, I muttered. My voice sounded weaker this time.

◆[System Note : Another Mission will be provided once the Host completes any.]

#[1]-Shoot Ten-Thousand[:10000] Bullseye

#[2]-Reach {5-Y.Exp} or above in every skill the Host Possess.
➠Reward : {ꗃ:UNLOCK}–[Death Aura]

"...sighhhh!!"(Rai)
I let out a frustrated groan.
Feeling like I've stared at this window a hundred times already.
I keep hoping that I've somehow misread the numbers or that new missions have appeared, but no such luck.
It's the same old tasks, unchanged.
The first mission, labelled #[1], is a real doozy
…shooting ten thousand arrows, and they all have to be bullseyes?
Seriously, that's one heck of a task.
If I shoot five hundred arrows a day, it'll still take me a whopping 20 days to complete it.
And that's if I push my body to the absolute limit and manage to hit the bullseye every single time.
The reward of gaining three years of experience in [Archery] is tempting, no doubt, but it's also incredibly daunting.
Now, let's talk about the second mission, #[2].
It's asking for a minimum of five years of experience in every skill I possess.
I mean, come on, that's a tall order.
I'm not holding my breath on completing this one anytime soon.
Maybe in two years if I'm lucky, but even that's a stretch.
The thing is, I haven't even tried using any of the Skills I have yet.
There's got to be another way to gain Experience, right? Maybe I'll have to put in some effort myself.
With these thoughts swirling in my mind, I lost track of time, not even realising how long I've been awake, obsessing over the System.
Eventually, exhaustion took over, and I drifted off to sleep, still mulling over the challenges and rewards that lay ahead.
