Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1

It was another busy day at the casino: the bright lights and and numerous movement didn't at all go with Dream but it didn't seem like at the point he had a choice. To tell the truth he hated the place more than he could tell but his father looked up to him and Dream didn't want to disappoint anyone.

He sat down, body relaxed and his hands spread out on the top of a semicircular white fun factoid and held a glass of red wine slowly drinking in periodically and trying to fucus on a distinct image from the crowd which would be good enough to capture his attention. His eyes gazed from the craps table which was usually full and mostly because it was the cheapest game around to even the plant at the corner. He observed the plant and his hand moved slowly to his ear. He gave the ear piece on his right ear a light touch and moved his lips as calmly as possible it almost seemed like he wasn't speaking "Carl come over here" he said in a calm yet demanding tone and took his hand off the piece crossed his legs and took another sip of the red wine. A few seconds later a man in a black suit walked through the crowd. His motion was uniform and would have been a lot nicer if he had a more muscular structure rather than his lineint average body he carried around. He walked straight towards Dream and stood infront of him. Without looking dream showed a seat for him and without hesitation the guard sat

without any expression in his face dream looked at the man sitting infront of him and tilted his head to the left side "Carl, what did I tell you about white and green blending together?"

Carl looked around the casino as if searching for something and he found it abit difficult to locate what he was looking for until his eyes fell on the green plant be the white casino walls. He turned back to look at his boss who was still staring at him. Dream gave a small grin and This caused Carl to lower his head and spoke in an apologetic but fast tune " I'm so sorry sir that's gonna be rectified as soon as possible"

"then we have no problem Carl" the grin disappeared and Dream turned his head looking somewhere away from Carl and signaled with a his finger for Carl to leave. Carl stood up and walked the same direction he came from.He took steps passed the poker players and bar before he raised his head. Dream stared at him go and watched as Carl tapped the earpiece on his left ear and heard carl grumble in a mummur

"who the hell put a plant by the white wall!! you guys all know the boss hates that"

He knew Carl wouldn't go by without asking who placed the plant there. He admired Carl and appreciated his loyalty to family and especially to him. He found Carl when Carl was just 15 and stayed with Carl through times of hardship. Dream smiled alittle as he remembered the argument he had with Carl when Carl decided to be a guard rather than enjoy the luxry of being a boss too...no one defied Dream but for Carl agreements could be made and maybe he would have felt some sentimental emotions, for Carl maybe called him brother but that could never be possible as there was no heart for love.

Lost in his thoughts Dream was interupted by a shatter of glass. He knew it wasn't from his casino...no one would dare destroy his property. He hated caos .

Dream raised himself from the chair and glided slowly through the thick crowd almost like his feet didn't touch the ground and as he walked he could feel he was being watched but he wasn't threatened as he was observed by female eyes.He didn't care.

Outside he felt the cold breeze and wondered why he was even in the casino. Standing by the left of the gigantic door one hand in his pocket and the other still enjoying the company if the wine he moved about 7 feet and removed his had from his pocket then moved his palm on the gold metal balcony slowly. The cold it gave out made him smile as he wondered what was colder.

This thought was interupted by a loud distant screem. Dream looked around him at the men and women around him moving in and out of the casino and realized no one had heard the scream. Immediately he sped out moving almost as fast as light

Chelsea looked around her and all she could see was her death. Why on earth did she decide to walk by herself this time of the night !!. Damnit she was being nice again accepting to help her neighbor Miss Linda with some Chinese food and now all she could see was her death. She watched as these three men looked at her with evil smiles on their faces, circling her coming closer and the one facing her with a broken bottle in hand. No! this wasn't rape...she felt it, she knew it. This was a murder as she felt death in these men. She was going to be the victim but why would they just want to kill her. It was all off in her head but there was no time to play detective. Chelsea moved back slowly until she could almost feel the man behind her's breath on her neck. she turned as fast as she could and gave all the energy she had left to her hands which shoved the man behind away tearing his black inner wear but that act was replaced with a stabb to her right side by the other man without the bottle. she screamed in pain and turned to see the man who formally faced her shoving the broken bottle towards her belly and silently she closed her eyes to death, embracing it. but then something else came, like a rush of wind and suddenly she felt herself being rapped up . she felt arms settle gently around her yet with such speed she couldn't understand. This was comforting.Chelsea couldn't help but curl up in these arms...she felt herself getting dizzy, she was still loosing blood from her side. She heard the men who had once seem fearless scream then runaway and there was silence. The stranger calmly loosed his grip giving her space to relax in his arms she moved her hand to her bleeding side and placed her weight on the other side of her hip then looked up to try to get a glimpse of her saviors face who seemed to be staring intensely at her wound but then as she raised her head she felt this darkness around her worst that anything she's ever felt, worse than death she did realize when she started shaking, heart pounding, adrenaline demanding flight and she tried to get out of his grip but he didn't let go.Tears rolled down her cheek as she let all her tensioned bones relax in submissiveness. He stared at her but she dared not look back. In-between sobs she said " the darkness in you is more than I can bare" she wimped "please let me..." and he was gone in flash like he came. She was really dizzy now tried to walk but she had lost so much blood she fell to the ground hard and as her eyes shut close she wiperd weakly "what darkness"
