Chapter 36 - The End Once Again?

Farrel didn't know what happened, the only thing left in his mind before he lost consciousness was that he needed to reach a certain area.

And right now, only that thought remains as he felt himself floating in an unknown place.

He didn't know where he was, he only knew it was pitch black all around him.

Farrel tried to wake up and open his eyes, but he realized that his eyes were already open and there was just really nothing all around him.

Taking a few seconds of silence to let the situation sink in, Farrel released another sigh,

'Did I die again…?'

The floating feeling that his body- or rather a soul felt and the pitch blackness that he felt were very similar to the situation that he had been through a few days ago.

The moment when he was barraged with bullets and killed in his own home.

'What a short yet eventful second life.'

Farrel thought before accepting that fact and letting his body float in this unknown space that might be the afterlife.

'At least I could accompany Joy and catch him now if he tried to run away by passing through those thick tree trunks.'

He didn't know where he was right now, but he knew that he would become a ghost sooner or later.

Something that should have happened before when he was first killed back on Earth.

'Come to think of it, at least I wouldn't be Bahuwirya's underling if I became a ghost in this world. That's at least one plus point that I can be grateful for.'

Farrel's thoughts began wandering everywhere as he thought about exploring the unknown world as a ghost and how he would spend eternity as a ghost.

Unfortunately for him though, Farrel couldn't wander about his ghost life for too long as the silent peace that he got was suddenly broken by an unfamiliar voice.

"You are definitely interesting… and weird…"

Jolted up from the unknown voice, Farrel looked left and right, up and down, even diagonally to find the source of the voice.

But he still found nothing other than darkness all around him.

Thinking for a split second, Farrel jerked his imaginary head back as he thought of something.

"God…?"

"Wait no. Considering what I've done so far… Then… Satan…?"

But he didn't get his reply as the voice ignored him.

"You are clearly a young human, barely an adult."

"You have no circles or traces of the tower in your body yet you are able to manifest unknown abilities by spouting some unknown words."

The voice was heard loud and clear in Farrel's ears. And it annoys him that the voice seemed to just start ranting on its own, having a monologue despite clearly having received questions from him.

"Hey Satan! Or God? Whatever you are! It's rude to ignore someone when you are being talked with, you know!?"

But just like before, the voice seemed to consider his voice as air as it continued its monologue.

"Those abilities you used… They sapped the strength of ghosts and the negative energy all around you to use for yourselves."

"And that last ability that you used. It's fascinating. I've never seen anything as sacrificing one's own blood to boost the negative energy of ghosts."

"You are simply fascinating!"

Farrel was annoyed before, but he was livid now.

Not only did he was ignored, but whatever it was that started talking on its own also commented on every last thing that he did and talked about it as if he was watching an exciting show.

A show where he was struggling to his last breath to keep his life. His second chance in life.

He was prepared to make some changes to not repeat the same ending on his first chance, but he was caught by an unexpected and unfortunate accident.

Causing him to only regret wasting a golden opportunity that no one had ever received before.

"Hey you! Dumb, moral-less deity or whatever you are! Just get this done and drag me down to the underworld or something. I can't stand getting ignored and receiving comments as if my life was a circus show!"

After being ignored all this time, the deity finally responded to Farrel's words.

"Alright, I decided."

"If you could survive. Then I will not only give you a third chance in life but also the power you need to survive and thrive here. A power that you didn't have before. "

"A power that took a whole nation to defeat even when that power was still only in its infancy state."

Before Farrel could ask more questions, his mouth was closed shut as he felt his soul being pulled somewhere once more.

It was a familiar feeling as he also felt it before when he first arrived in this unknown world.

But different from before when he felt he was being pulled for a long time, this time, he only felt a short jerk before he abruptly stopped.

Farrel was opening his eyes the whole time despite the pitch-black environment.

But he suddenly closed them as blinding light entered his eyes.

Fortunately, it only lasted for a split second as Farrel could open his eyes in the next moment.

And what greeted him was a familiar environment.

The thick dense trees all around him, the uneven ground, and the rock walls all around him, Farrel quickly realized that he was currently standing at the mouth of the cave.

The last place that he had been in the last time he was still breathing.

Before he could check anything out, Farrel heard a familiar voice,

"Farrel? What happened?"

Looking to his side, Farrel saw a floating ghost boy beside him, looking around in confusion as he felt his environment had somehow changed despite looking the same.

And not only the little ghost boy,

"KIKIKIKIKI"

The ghost woman soon appeared on Farrel's other side, giggling while also observing her surroundings.

Before Farrel could answer Joy's question or react to the woman's weird laughing, the unknown voice was heard once again.

'I also found the two of them interesting and decided to let them help you.'

'Without further ado, I wish you the best and hopefully, you survive this. I truly want you to be the worthy one to continue this legacy.'

'Oh, and I hope you will take a liking to what you can do right now.'

After the last sentence from the man was heard, circles began appearing in Farrel's body, similar yet different circles from the ones he saw on the bandit leader's body.

The ones appearing in Farrel's body are more complex and exist in more places than just his hands.
