"Uuuu," a weary sigh escaped from Genevieve's lips.
Genevieve felt despair. For almost a week, she and her companions, Quer and Moland, had been trapped in a seemingly endless forest filled with never-ending trees. They didn't know how to escape from this place. Every day, they wandered aimlessly, without direction, without purpose, without hope.
The forest itself was fraught with danger. They frequently encountered wild animals that threatened their lives. There were also strange creatures that seemed like the result of mutations. Genevieve didn't know what caused this, but she suspected there was something unnatural in this forest.
Genevieve also couldn't contact Lumiya, the spirit artifact bound to her. Lumiya was usually there to help her, provide advice, or simply keep her company. But since they entered this forest, Lumiya seemed to have vanished. Genevieve felt lonely and scared.
