Chapter 25 - What did u say 1

She placed the greeting card back on the table and tried to get up from her bed again. This time, she managed to remove the needle from her arm without feeling any pain. She felt her body had fully recovered and nothing was hindering her movements.

Then she looked for her clothes, which were lying on a chair in the corner of the room. She picked up her clothes and headed to the bathroom within the room. She locked the bathroom door and started changing her clothes.

Meanwhile, in the hospital lobby, Quer, Draven, Moland, and Remy were sitting on a comfortable sofa. They were reading a newspaper containing news about the current world situation.

"When will the young lady wake up?" Quer asked anxiously.

"Don't worry, Quer. Doctor Lee said she's awake and doing well. She'll probably come out of her room soon," Draven replied calmly.

"Yes, but I'm worried she'll be angry with me for failing to protect and keep her safe," Quer said guiltily.

"You don't need to feel guilty, Quer. Young lady Genevieve went into the forest on her own without our knowledge. She wanted to train her unique abilities. Besides, everything she did was her own choice," Moland said reassuringly.

"But it's still my fault. I shouldn't have let my guard down with the young lady. And because I was careless, I didn't realize that she went to such a dangerous place. She entered the forest, not knowing that there are mutant bears there," Quer said sadly.

"You can't blame yourself either, Quer. The mutant bear appeared out of nowhere. You couldn't have avoided it," Remy said wisely.

Remy is Draven's school friend who now works as a mutant hunter. He's the one who found them in the forest and saved them from the mutant bear with his impressive spear. He also helped take them to the nearest hospital.

Remy is a handsome and brave young man. He has short blond hair and bright blue eyes. He's wearing a black leather jacket and blue jeans. He's also wearing a gleaming hunter's badge on his waist.

"Thank you for your help, Remy. You truly saved us," Draven expressed gratefully.

"Oh, no need to thank me, Draven. I'm just doing my job as a mutant hunter. Besides, we're old friends," Remy said casually.

"Yes, we are old friends. But I never knew you became a mutant hunter," Draven said surprisedly.

"Yeah, it's a long story. I'll tell you later if you want," Remy said mysteriously.

"Okay, I'm curious about your story," Draven responded with interest.

"But now is not the time to talk about it. Now is the time to wait for Genevieve to come out of her room," Remy said enthusiastically.

"Why are you so excited about waiting for Genevieve?" Moland asked suspiciously.

"Because I like her, of course," Remy replied honestly.

"You like her? Since when?" Quer asked surprisedly.

"Since I saw her in the forest. She's beautiful, courageous, and strong. I'm captivated by her," Remy praised.

"Are you sure she likes you back?" Draven asked skeptically.

"Of course. Who wouldn't like me? I'm handsome, wealthy, and skilled," Remy said confidently.

"You're too arrogant, Remy. You don't know anything about Genevieve. She's not an ordinary girl you can easily charm," Draven teased.

"We'll see. I'm sure she'll fall in love with me after I show her how great I am as a mutant hunter," Remy challenged.

"Alright, alright. We'll see," Draven conceded.

They fell silent and went back to reading the newspaper. They didn't realize that Genevieve had already come out of her room and was walking towards them. She was wearing the same clothes as before, but they looked neater and cleaner. She appeared fresh and cheerful.

She approached them with a smile on her face.

"Hello, friends. How are you?" Genevieve greeted warmly.

"Hello, young lady. We're glad to see you're awake and well," Quer replied happily.

He then stood up from the sofa and hugged Genevieve tightly.

"We were really worried about you, young lady. You can't imagine how relieved we are to see you safe," Quer said emotionally.

Genevieve returned Quer's hug warmly.

"Thank you, Quer. You're a good friend. I was also worried about you and Moland. Are you both okay?" Genevieve asked with concern.

"We're fine, young lady. We only had minor injuries. Doctor Lee said we can go home tomorrow," Moland replied, also standing up from the sofa and approaching Genevieve.

He then handed Genevieve a red rose that he picked from the table.

"This is for you, young lady. I hope this flower brings some cheer to you," Moland said shyly.

Genevieve smiled and accepted the flower.

"Thank you, Moland. This flower is really beautiful. You're very thoughtful," Genevieve said sweetly.

Moland blushed at her words.

"You're welcome, young lady. I'm glad you like it," Moland said nervously.

Draven, watching the scene, smiled. He knew that Moland had feelings for Genevieve, but he never dared to confess. He hoped that Genevieve felt the same way.

He then stood up from the sofa as well and approached Genevieve.

"Hello, young lady Genevieve. I'm glad to see you're recovered," Draven greeted politely.

"Hello, Draven. I'm also glad to see you again," Genevieve replied warmly.

She then shook Draven's hand firmly.

"Thank you for everything, Draven. You've been a great help to me. I owe you a lot," Genevieve said sincerely.

"No need to thank me, young lady Genevieve. I was just doing my duty as your protector. But I failed and caused you to get hurt by that bear," Draven said with a tone of guilt.

Genevieve shook her head.

"You don't need to feel that way about me, Draven. You did what you had to do. Besides, I got us into that situation too," Genevieve said remorsefully.

Draven patted Genevieve's shoulder gently.

"Don't feel guilty, young lady Genevieve. You're not at fault. You just wanted to train your unique abilities. That's normal and commendable," Draven said reassuringly.

Genevieve looked at Draven with a touch of emotion.

"You're really kind, Draven. You always understand me," Genevieve said appreciatively.

Draven blushed hearing her words.

"Thank you, young lady Genevieve. You're also kind and remarkable," Draven said honestly.

They then exchanged smiles and looked at each other warmly.

Watching the scene, Remy felt jealous and frustrated. He didn't like seeing the closeness between Genevieve and Draven. He felt that Draven was his rival in winning Genevieve's heart.

He then stood up from the sofa as well and interrupted their conversation.

"Hello, hello. Don't forget I'm here too," he said loudly.

He then approached Genevieve and introduced himself.

"Hello, Genevieve. I'm Remy. I'm Draven's school friend and a professional mutant hunter," he said proudly.

He pointed to the badge on his waist.

"See this? This is the coolest badge anyone can ever get in this world. It also has tracking magic. I saved all of you from the mutant bear using this," he boasted.

Genevieve looked at Remy with surprise. She didn't know what to say.

"Uh, hello, Remy. Nice to meet you," she said politely.

She then thanked him.

"Thank you for your help, Remy. You truly saved us," Genevieve said respectfully.

Remy smiled broadly upon hearing that.

"You're welcome, Genevieve. I'm glad I could help. You're an amazing girl. I like you," Remy said boldly.

Genevieve was taken aback.

"W-what? You like me?" she asked surprisedly.

Remy nodded.

"Yes, I like you. You're beautiful, brave, and strong. I'm fascinated by you," Remy repeated boldly.

He then attempted to hold Genevieve's hand affectionately.

"Would you be my girlfriend, Genevieve?" he asked boldly.

Genevieve quickly withdrew her hand from Remy's grasp.

"I-I don't want to," she said firmly.

Remy was surprised by her response.

"Why not? What's wrong with me?" he asked disappointedly.

Genevieve shook her head.

"Nothing is wrong with you. But I don't know you. We've just met. You can't just declare your feelings like that," Genevieve said logically.

Remy furrowed his brows.

"But I've felt this way since the first time I saw you. I'm sure we're meant to be together," Remy said confidently.

Genevieve sighed.

"I'm sorry, Remy. But I don't believe in love at first sight. And I'm not interested in dating right now. I have more important things to do," Genevieve said clearly.
