Chapter 17 - Go and Come 2

"Excuse me, may we make your acquaintance?" Quer asked Draven.

Quer, who had been unable to talk to Draven, finally got the chance to talk to him. Quer was very curious about Olev nephew.

Draven turned to Quer, "I am Draven, Olev's nephew" said Draven.

"I am Quer, young lady Genevieve's loyal servant. Next to me is Moland" said Quer.

"Hello" said Moland.

"Emm, greetings, Quer and Moland" Draven said with a smile.

"By the way, do you work on your muscles often, they look huge!" said Quer while admiring Draven's body.

"Shut up Quer, don't bother him. He looks like that because he has a rare gene" Genevieve explained.

"What's a gene?" asked Quer innocently.

"Haish....,A gene is something that determines a person's physical characteristics, Quer" replied Genevieve.

"Oh, I see. So, he has genes that make him look old?" asked Quer.

"Yes, more or less," Genevieve replied.

Draven felt embarrassed by their conversation. He didn't like talking about his weird genes.

The four of them then walked towards the training ground located at the back of the palace. The training ground was where Genevieve used to train with Olev. There were various kinds of equipment and facilities to train fighting skills.

Genevieve looked at the training ground with excitement. She felt motivated to train harder and better. She wanted to show Olev that she could be stronger without him.

Draven also looked at the training field with passion. He felt challenged to train alongside Genevieve and her shadow. He wanted to prove to Olev that he could replace his role well.

Quer and Moland also looked at the training ground with interest. They were curious about the various activities that Draven would be doing. They wanted to learn from them and help Genevieve in her training.

"Well, where do we start?" Genevieve asked Draven.

Draven looked left and right, searching for a suitable place to train with Genevieve. He spotted an area that looked quiet and spacious. There were several wooden dummies used to practice aiming and attacking.

"Let's go there!" Draven called out as he pointed to the area.

"Okay!" said Genevieve as she followed Draven to the area.

Quer and Moland also followed behind them. They were curious about what Draven and Genevieve would be doing there.

Arriving at the area, they saw several wooden dolls that had human forms. The dolls had iron plating on some parts of their bodies to protect against sharp attacks. The dolls also had mechanisms that allowed them to move according to the level of difficulty desired by the user.

Draven took a sword from the weapon rack near the area. He gave the sword to Genevieve.

"This is for you, young lady" Draven said as he gave the sword to Genevieve.

Genevieve received the sword carefully. She felt the weight of the sword in her hand. The sword looked big and heavy. It had a wide and long blade, with a pointed tip. It had a thick, leather-covered hilt, with a curved hand guard.

Genevieve shook her head. She was not suited for the sword. It was too heavy and not agile enough for her fighting style. She preferred the rapier that she had been using since the beginning of her training until now. Because the rapier had a thin and straight blade, with a sharp edge, it also had a slim and cloth-covered hilt, with a simple hand guard.

"Sorry, Draven. I can't use this sword" Genevieve said as she returned the sword to Draven.

"Why not, young lady?" asked Draven in surprise.

"This sword is too heavy and not agile enough for me. I prefer a rapier" replied Genevieve as she pointed to the rapier on the weapon rack.

"Oh, I see. Sorry, I didn't know you preferred rapiers" Draven said as he accepted the sword back.

"It's okay, Draven. You're not wrong" Genevieve said with a smile.

Draven smiled back, then put the sword back into the weapon rack. He then picked up the same rapier that Genevieve had chosen.

"Then I will also use the rapier, young lady" Draven said as he handed the rapier to Genevieve.

Genevieve accepted the rapier gladly. She felt the weight of the rapier in her hands. The rapier felt light and comfortable. It suited her fighting style.

"Thank you, Draven. This rapier suits me better" Genevieve said as she praised the rapier.

"You are welcome, young lady. This rapier also fits me" Draven said as he picked up another rapier for himself.

"Do you like rapiers too?" asked Genevieve admiringly.

"Not so much, young lady. Although the rapier is a light and elegant weapon, I too have had my moments with the rapier" said Draven as he held his rapier proudly.

Genevieve smiled at Draven's words.

"You are right about the rapier being light and elegant, Draven. Because the rapier is indeed an elegant and beautiful weapon. The rapier is a weapon that relies on speed and precision. It suits people who are smart and brave" Genevieve said as she held her rapier confidently.

"Well then, let's begin our training, young lady" Draven invited as he pointed to one of the wooden puppets.

"Alright, let's go!" said Genevieve as she nodded in agreement.

Quer and Moland also nodded in agreement. They were interested to see Draven and Genevieve's training.

Draven and Genevieve then stood in front of the wooden puppet they had chosen. They adjusted their distance and position to the wooden dummy. They held their rapiers at the ready.

Draven then pressed a button on the side of the wooden puppet. The button served to adjust the difficulty of the wooden puppet's movements. Draven chose medium difficulty.

The wooden puppet then began to move. It swung its hand holding the wooden sword at Draven and Genevieve in turn. It also moved its feet to change the direction of the attack or dodge a counterattack.

Draven and Genevieve reacted immediately. They nimbly dodged the wooden puppet's attacks. They also counterattacked the wooden puppet quickly. They used their rapiers to stab or cut the parts of the wooden puppet's body that were not protected by iron.

The sound of sword meeting sword rang through the air. The sound of sword piercing wood rang through the air. The sound of a sword cutting through iron is heard in the air.

Draven and Genevieve seemed to get along well in training together. They helped and complemented each other in attack and defence. They gave each other signals and instructions without speaking.

Quer and Moland watched their training with admiration. They saw that Draven and Genevieve had extraordinary fighting skills. They saw that Draven and Genevieve had a good partnership.

"Wow, it turns out that young lady Genevieve's skills have developed well in our absence, Moland!" praised Quer as he clapped his hands.

"You're right, she's getting better with the sword!" agreed Moland as he nodded.

Draven and Genevieve's training lasted for a few minutes. They managed to defeat the wooden puppet with ease. They smashed the wooden puppet to bits with their rapiers.

Draven and Genevieve then stopped training. They put their rapiers into the weapon rack. They breathed a sigh of relief.

"How was it, young lady? Are you satisfied with this exercise?" asked Draven with a smile.

"Yes, I am very satisfied, Draven. You are very good with the rapier" Genevieve replied, smiling back.

"Thank you, young lady. You are also very good with the rapier" Draven said as he complimented Genevieve.

"Thank you, Draven. You are also very good at training with me" Genevieve said as she praised Draven.

"Thank you, young lady. You did a great job training with me too" Draven said as he praised Genevieve.

*Giggle..Giggle..*

After saying many thanks to each other, the two of them then laughed together. They felt happy and satisfied with their training.

"Now, let's rest for a while," Genevieve said as she pointed to a bench near the area.

"Alright, young lady" Draven said as he followed Genevieve to the bench.

Quer and Moland also followed them to the bench.

The four of them sat down on the bench. They drank water from the glass beside the bench. They chatted about various things.

They talked about their training. They gave each other feedback and suggestions to improve their fighting skills. They gave each other praise and rewards for their performance.

They chat about Olev. They shared their experiences and memories with Olev. They shared their hopes and prayers for Olev.

They talked about themselves. They tell each other about their origins and backgrounds. They talked about their dreams and aspirations.

They chatted intimately and warmly. They quickly felt comfortable and happy together. They were like old friends who had just met again.

Genevieve was happy to be chatting with Draven and his shadow. Although her first impression of Draven was that of a careless man, she found him to be smart, brave, and friendly. She also felt that Quer and Moland could easily get along with Draven because of his personality.
