Chereads / Advent of the Dungeon Master / Chapter 5 - Dungeon Core.

Chapter 5 - Dungeon Core.

After raising the Minotaur as an undead, I realised something significant. The number of summons doesn't mean each individual summon. It also accounts for the size of the summons. After I summoned the Minotaur, which was a giant summon, it took up two summoning slots. So now, my summons were Desmond, the two skeleton assassins and the minotaur.

'It's fine... the minotaur is an extremely strong summon...', I told myself.

We were on our way back to the dungeon core room which was quite a ways away from where we ended up in.

I was sure I had enough magic crystals to repair the dungeon core. And the thing about 'Summon 5 Monsters' I'm guessing is something to do with my necromancy? I can't be too sure, but if it is something to do with my necromancy, then I have already fulfilled that task.

For the entire way back to the dungeon core room, I never let my guard down even once. I was sure that I would get into something disastrous like the last time, and it was very much possible that I wouldn't get as lucky as I did with the minotaur.

--- Reached the Dungeon Core room ---

Alas... nothing disastrous happened during the return trip.

"Stand By.", I commanded the undead.

Everyone obeyed unquestioningly.

"I am going to repair the dungeon core.", I told Corvis.

"Craw.", Corvis didn't yell this time. He looked rather serious. Not that I know what a serious-looking crow looks like. I just felt like Corvis was being serious.

I went closer to the dungeon with the sac of magic crystals that I gathered from the shadow goblins.

[Dungeon Core]

[Status: Broken]

[HP: 0/100]

[Need magic stones to repair...]

[Magic stones detected.]

[Repiar Dungeon Core? Yes/No]

"Yes", as soon as I said that, I felt a tremendous wind radiating from the dungeon core. it didn't knock me off balance, but it set my robes fluttering.

*WWHOSSHHH*

The magic stones in the sac slowly started to vaporise into tiny, blue particulate matter.

The particles, shimmering with an amazing blue hue formed a line and uniformly started merging with the dungeon core.

The broken pieces of the dungeon core slowly started levitating and each piece started to go back to their original places, repairing the dungeon core.

After a few minutes of the mesmerising display, I was interrupted by the appearance of another black translucent window with golden text on it.

[Dungeon Core Repaired.]

[Upon Failure: MAG: C -> MAG: C-]

"Shit... That thing about summoning monsters wasn't about my necromancy... I still have 5 hours, I'll somehow manage to figure it out within that time frame..."

"For now... Console!"

'All of the Dark magic spells have gone up a level... Do they do more damage now?'

"Debug: What happens when magic levels up?"

...

"Bruh."

"Debug Skill: Level Up"

...

"BRUH"

"Debug: Magic Level Up"

[Debugging...]

'Finally...'

[Magic Level Up: All the spells under the magic type deals more damage/effectiveness increases. Casting time remains the same. Mana consumption remains the same. Some spells require multiple level-ups to get stronger, for eg. Raise Undead.]

"Interesting...", I said out loud.

'But what about summoning monsters?', I wondered before walking closer to the Dungeon core.

[Dungeon Core]

[Status: Active]

[HP: 100/100]

[Open Menu? Yes/No]

'Menu?'

I clicked on the Yes button next to the open menu prompt and suddenly, a monitor appeared. A holographic one, but a monitor nonetheless.

[Booting Dungeon Interface...]

[Finding host...]

[Use host: {Local Dungeon Core}? Yes/No]

'Yes'

[Loading... 10%... 20%... 50%... 90%... 97%... 100%]

[Menu:]

[Owner: @#&*$(Arch-Demon{Variant})

Check Cameras: {Click}

Summoning Shop: {Click}]

The window that opened looked like some kind of custom-made Linux interface. Black translucent window with golden text. The buttons looked clean but old-fashioned.

'My name... isn't showing up...', I thought after observing the 'Owner' label.

'Anyway, my dungeon is annihilated? I kind of expected it to be the case after seeing the state it's in... but still... no monsters?', I thought.

'Well, At least now I know what it means to summon monsters...', I thought after seeing the 'Summoning Shop' button.

Without much thought, I clicked the summoning shop button.

[Summoning Shop]

[Shadow Goblin (2): 3 low-grade magic stones.]

[Ghouls(2): 3 Low-grade magic stones.]

[Skeleton Wight(2): 3 Low-grade magic stones.]

[Minotaur(1): 2 intermediate-grade magic stones.]

[More monsters get added when the owner slays more monsters.]

The icons for the monsters looked almost cartoonish but I knew that none of those monsters were to be messed with. I saw them first hand and realised that even though they are low-level monsters, they are still very scary for a newbie like me...

But suddenly, as I was thinking, another *Ping sound invaded my mind.

[Notification.]

[A proxy has been located]

[Proxy Name: Corvis, the crow(Dark Spirit, crow, male)]

[Proxy determined as Secure.]

[Connect Proxy? Yes/No]

...

"What?!", I yelled, jolting my neck to face Corvis who was staring at the dungeon core.

"Craw!", affirmative nod.

"Shit... Okay then... Yes.", I said, clicking the yes button on the window.

[Connecting...]

[Proxy Connected!]

"Craw Craw!", Corvis flew to my shoulder.

"What?"

"Craw!"

As soon as Corvis yelled 'Craw', the same dungeon menu that appeared on the dungeon core, appeared in front of Corvis. It seemed like he was projecting the window in front of him with his eyes.

"Oh, wow... I guess that means I don't have to constantly come back to the dungeon core to open the menu anymore... cool!", I told Corvis to which he replied-

"Craw!"

'Let's summon the monsters now...', I thought but then I remembered that I didn't have any magic stones with me...

"Argh! SO annoying!", I complained.

"... Desmond, take those two assassins with you and hunt as many monsters as you can within 4 hours... Corvis, tell Desmond the locations of the monsters. And I will go hunt monsters with the minotaur...", I commanded.

"Yes... My lord...", Demond obeyed and left the dungeon core room.

Corvis seemed to tell something to Demond before he left. I assumed it to be the directions to the monsters.

"So... Let's go hunt some darn monsters...", I commanded the minotaur and we left to hunt some monsters.
