"Hmmm," Captain Asher mumbles as he looks at my beaten face. "I don't think you can stay here any longer."
"You think so?" I scoff at him.
"I didn't visit you for two days, and now, you're worse than you arrived. How many soldiers visited to beat you up?"
"I don't know. I don't count."
He groans. "So, a lot, huh?" He takes a heavy sigh and scratches his head.
"What? Are you going to beat me up as well? Just like your soldiers?"
Instead of responding, he says, "Get up," he commands, his voice cold and unforgiving. He unlocks the prison bar and opens it wide.
I try to stand, but my body protests. Every inch of me is throbbing with pain, and I struggle to even move.
"I said get up!" He clicks his tongue, moves towards me and pulls me up from the floor.
I groan at the pain. I am bruised and battered, and I'm pretty sure he knows that!
