When we arrive at the castle, almost everyone is already in the gardens. It is where the royal family will be served by the remaining three participants. Right after climbing down the horse, Calais and I both ran along the gardens, across the courtyard, and even down the halls.
I am panicking, and yet, I feel high. Calais and I hold each other's hand as we made our way to the royal kitchen.
"You are late, Lady Dunnett," the old woman greets by the door. Her eyes go from my head to toe and then, shakes her head before pointing at another door. "Fix yourself first before cooking. Be quick about it though. The competition had already started a few minutes ago."
I nod and open the door to the room. Calais follows right after me, and the instant the door closes, we both have the same idea in mind. I invade his personal space again, and he pulls me by the waist. We kiss for a while, our limbs wrapped around each other's bodies.
