I stretch as I look around. The sun is shining so bright at midday. Instead of a carriage, I am riding a horse so I can take a better look around Cairns kingdom. We have a couple of simple carriages, though. It's where the ex-slaves ride. Some of the carriages are used to place all our things and boxes of food for the entire group. Thankfully, my father loaned them to me.
Suffice to say, after the urban style of Dunnett's stronghold, the forest comes, and then miles and miles of farmlands.
For the first time, I understand why the Cairns Kingdom is called a paradise. The people have food. They have comfortable houses. Slavery is outlawed. They are given jobs despite their social class. And those who would take advantage of the law are severely punished. Seriously, it is only Lyrica who is the single blot in this lovely, picturesque Kingdom.
