The half-humans stare at me, half believing what I just revealed to them.
"You are lying!" the woman screeches.
"You just want to escape your sins!"
"If I want to escape my sins, why am I helping you to start over a new life?"
The half-monsters stop and then one of them makes a battle cry and rushes toward me. I look sadly at him. I hold his eyes and whisper, "I am sorry. But I can't let you kill me."
I touch the ground, and fire encircles me. Not enough. I raise walls of earth to protect myself from them. I sit on the ground. I doubt that they can still enter this wall of protection. I look at the sky. Well, that is, unless they can fly. From what I know of them, none of them have that ability.
I'm so tired. If Gavin hadn't bothered me earlier, I'd have more energy. I pause for a moment and wonder — will these half-humans hurt him? Will they harm Jonathan? They knew that the previous Lyrica had never shown any affection for anyone.
