I let out a frustrated sigh, glaring at Rexford as he stands in front of me with a sheepish expression. "You just had to hug her the instant you saw her, didn't you?" I mutter.
He shifts uncomfortably on his feet, avoiding my gaze. "Well... it was an impulse," he reasons.
I resist the urge to roll my eyes. "You've just made our situation so much more complicated."
"I know," he says with a heavy sigh. "I should have controlled my emotions better."
I open my mouth to respond when Gwendolyn interrupts us. "Actually, it's not entirely his fault," she pipes in.
We both turn to look at her. She gives us a small smile before continuing, "This person, well, I was in love with him before. It was unrequited but I had always invaded his personal space until he mimics it and it has become his habit."
"Oh, I remember now," Rexford says. "See? It's not my fault. I was brainwashed by the girlie."
"Girlie?" I ask again.
