"Lyrica?" he calls after a while, cutting short my celebration.
"Can you allow me to use this type of magic until after our wedding?" I ask, still hiding against his chest. "I am afraid that you will change your mind."
He frowns. "Change my mind about marrying you?"
I nod, my hands clutching at his shirt.
"Why would I ever do that? In truth, I can't wait for tomorrow to arrive."
"But what if one day you wake up and realize that I'm not enough for you?" I ask, making my voice sound weak and vulnerable. "That you want someone more… pure?"
"I don't think I will," he replies.
"Even if I give myself to you now? Even if you exhaust all the desire that you have for me?"
"I don't think that my desire for you will ever get exhausted," he whispers as he starts playing with my hair. "So, there's no need for you to do that."
I look up at him. "What if I tell you that I want proof of that?"
"What kind of proof?"
