The only problem in the Cairns dungeon is that, it becomes very cold during the night, and because it is underground, it is also very dark. The only time the lamps are turned on is whenever there are visitors.
I am still mulling over the things I discussed with Eliana when I heard the sound of boots echoing off the floor. I sit up and wait for the light to stop in my prison cell.
"What are you doing here again, Byron?" I ask, the instant his imposing silhouette appears. "I thought last time was the last you will show yourself to me."
When he still does not speak, I add, "Is visiting me and watching me fade away in this castle becoming your pastime?"
Byron seems to consider my words for a moment before answering. "I'm not quite sure. Perhaps it's curiosity... or maybe it's something else."
"Don't play games with me," I grumble.
