For the past few days, Jonathan and I experiment with the magic book, leaving Calais to take care and manage the other soldiers with us. I try to stay away as much as possible from him, knowing exactly what he feels for me, or the lack of it.
At night though, he insists on sleeping beside me. He embraces me the entire night and since he's warm, it's something I welcome.
"I found a place where you can utilize your magic with no restrictions," Jonathan shares while we are having our breakfast. It's the third day of our travel and soon, we will arrive in the capital.
"Where?" I ask.
"A kilometer away from here. We can fly to it."
"You don't know how to fly."
"You can carry me."
Calais tenses and scowls at Jonathan who is oblivious to it. "That's fine. But I think it's better if we ride a horse instead."
"That can be a plan, too."
"Where is this?" Calais joins the conversation.
