After preparing my things, the Parcell servants load a wagon full of ingredients and food. It is for our journey to the capital. It also includes the share of the hundred soldiers that came with Jonathan to fetch me.
It takes longer than expected. In fact, when they are done, Calais has woken up and has prepared his things to come with me and Jonathan to the capital.
Once inside the carriage, Calais tries to hold my hand but I make up an excuse and point at something trivial outside. I smile at him but he only frowns at me. I try to involve him in shallow conversation but when he doesn't respond to my attempts; I sit back and fall into a spell of silence.
After an hour of silence, Jonathan laughs who is sitting cross-legged in front of me and Calais. "Trouble in paradise is so fun to watch," he remarks.
I narrow my eyes at him. "Why did they even send you?"
