Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Echo of the Abyss (1)

In the depths of a pitch-black cave where neither wind nor sound could penetrate a pair of vibrant purple eyes suddenly snapped open casting the only source of illumination

'Ugh. That sandwich tasted absolutely shit.' Lily grumbled sitting up.

As she glanced ahead she found herself in a dimly lit space accompanied by the faint dripping of water reminiscent of stalactite caves and a peculiar musty scent wafted through the air reminiscent of damp mold and unfortunately she accidentally inhaled some causing her to cough.

Sniffling she muttered, 'Damn hay fever.'

Absentmindedly she scratched her right side only to be startled by the sensation of a pair of horns prompting a small scream to escape her lips and tentatively she reached out and felt the presence of a thick minotaur-like horn and she shifted her touch to the left side where another pair of horns awaited her leaving her shocked. Curiosity compelled her to explore further, and she gingerly touched her face only to discover that it no longer felt like her own and it possessed a more masculine quality leaving her bewildered. Rising to her feet she suddenly became aware of something hanging between her legs causing her to startle and with trepidation she reached down and confirmed the existence of an appendage typically associated with the male gender.

'What the fuck?' She exclaimed in disbelief.

She continued to inspect thoroughly perplexed by this unexpected development.

'I ate a disgusting sandwich and woke up with a dick.' She muttered her confusion palpable.

Absent of any headache or signs of poisoning she couldn't fathom why she had acquired this additional feature and determined to find answers she began to walk surprisingly able to see her surroundings with ease despite the pitch-black darkness. Uncertain of her location as it was clearly not her bedroom she spotted a hallway and instinctively gravitated towards it hoping it would lead her to an exit.

As a pitiful spirit deity, she carried within her an unshakeable fear of the dark a vulnerability that she despised and unlike her fellow spirit deities who served the spirit god with emotional detachment she bore the weight of anxiety and fragility. The constant taunting and cruel comparisons to humans had left scars on her soul yet she had developed a resilience to the sting of such hurtful words but deep within she nursed a profound disdain for humans for they were always used as a benchmark to belittle her. The mere mention of their existence sent shivers of revulsion down her spine and ionically those who tormented her seemed infatuated with humanity indulging in endless fantasies of becoming human and immersing themselves in experiences like dating and love. Meanwhile Lily was cursed with an average appearance a quality that only intensified the mockery she endured and, in a realm, where every other spirit deity possessed divine beauty and perfection her averageness was viewed as a repugnant anomaly.

After walking for a while, she stumbled upon a small underground lake that seemed to defy gravity floating magically a meter above the ground and curiosity beckoned her closer and she couldn't resist its enchanting allure. Peering into the water she caught sight of her own reflection and let out a startled scream and to her surprise a captivating figure stood before her. The man possessed a flawless face with porcelain skin, fiery red eyes, and medium-length ebony black hair. Clad entirely in black he exuded an air of mystery with his form accentuated by a billowing black cloak but what truly caught her attention were the striking black horns that adorned his head. They were large curved and glossy lending an ominous touch to his overall appearance and delicate spirals traced their length adding an elegant and powerful aesthetic and as they jutted out prominently framing his face they unmistakably symbolized his demonic nature.

'Are those demon horns? And why am I in a man's form?' She muttered her confusion palpable.

Her disdain for people was strong but her contempt for demons especially men ran deeper as she viewed their physical attributes as obstacles to running and escaping. Finding herself trapped in her worst nightmare her heart raced with anger and panic while clutching her chest she half-expected a heart attack but nothing ensued and gradually she realized that her rapid heartbeat correlated with either anger or panic that was an unsettling discovery.

'Fucking.' She began to curse but her sentence was abruptly cut short as a searing headache gripped her.

Memories flooded her mind that belonged to the body she now inhabited and overwhelmed she collapsed to her knees clutching the right side of her head.

Within the depths of her mind, she witnessed a battlefield teeming with countless enraged figures engaged in combat against her and coldly she uttered the words, 'Oblivion Surge.'

In that instant a black vortex materialized at her command drawing the people towards its center and inside the vortex they experienced overwhelming gravitational forces that tore them apart and erased their existence in an instant.

Suddenly her vision shifted to a crimson sky where humanity was toiled as slaves, and some were shackled clad in tattered garments enduring unimaginable suffering and a sinister laughter escaped her lips as she compelled them to perform unspeakable tasks reveling in their torment and deriving pleasure from their anguish.

In the blink of an eye, she found herself back on the battlefield this time under a purple sky engaged in a relentless struggle against indistinct black entities.

One of them spoke with authority proclaiming, 'Nethergasm. You have enslaved humanity sowing chaos and disrupting the delicate balance. For these crimes you are hereby banished for eternity.'

Without warning thick black chains were hurled at her tightly binding her form and agonizing screams escaped her lips as the chains constricted searing her flesh and corroding her skin and the acrid scent of burnt flesh filled the air intensifying her torment as she writhed in pain and black smoke began to emanate from her hands and body and in the face of this ordeal she succumbed to unconsciousness collapsing before the ominous presence of the dark entities.

She gingerly touched her head still reeling from the memories she had witnessed. They belonged to a person named Nethergasm the very entity whose body she now inhabited and he was a demon lord who had enslaved humanity and as punishment he had been banished by powerful entities. While she harbored a deep disdain for humanity she was vehemently against the concept of slavery however she didn't believe that being trapped in Nethergasm's body warranted eternal punishment. She knew she couldn't afford to remain trapped in this form forever and needed to find a way out but first she had to determine her location. She suspected that one of her tormentors had poisoned the sandwich she had consumed leading to her demise. How else could she have ended up in the body of a banished demon lord? Her soul remained intact as she still retained memories from her previous life and world, so it was evident that she was deceased and had been reincarnated but the circumstances of ending up in the body of a banished demon lord remained a baffling enigma. She understood in the spirit realm once banished there was no return and she wondered if there was even a way out of this seemingly inescapable prison.

'Nethergasm. What a dreadful name.' She muttered speculating on the origins of such a name.

Perhaps his mother had experienced an orgasm during childbirth and in an attempt to make it sound impressive she added 'Nether' to the name.
