Chapter 6 - Feeling Shocked

That night, when he was training again, an unexpected notification appeared.

[After a period of doing push-ups, your body fat has decreased, and your arm strength has increased.]

[After a period of doing squats, your body fat has decreased, and your lower body strength has increased.]

"Wow, this is new."

This was a pleasant surprise. Naturally, he was full of motivation.

After more than ten days of practice, Wang An had memorized all twenty-four forms of Tai Chi and was already quite familiar with it.

His Tai Chi experience bar was also halfway filled.

[After practicing Tai Chi for a period of time, your body's coordination has improved, and your organs have been trained. Conditions like tendonitis and cervical spondylosis have been effectively alleviated.]

The notification that surprised him appeared again.

He practiced Tai Chi with the purpose of strengthening his body. He did not expect to have such a big gain in such a short time. He was really overjoyed.

Li Juewen also praised him by saying that he was quite talented in Tai Chi.

"Back then, I had to learn it for a month before I could remember the bare minimum. Now, you've only practiced it for more than ten days, and you're already so familiar with it."

"That is because you taught me well," Wang An said modestly.

"Young man, don't be modest. I'm only a dabbler myself, and there's a limit to what I can teach you." Li Juewen waved his hand in dismissal.

What he learned was Tai Chi for health. He only knew a little about the techniques involved in Tai Chi.

Other than the 24 Tai Chi forms, the only thing he could teach Wang An was Tai Chi Pushing Hands.

This was the bare-handed sparring method of Tai Chi that allowed one to experience the harmony and strength of Tai Chi.

Li Juewen had studied in a Tai Chi dojo in the city for three months and practiced for more than three years before he gained his current skill.

After a few more days, Wang An's body was getting better and better. He was also getting more and more familiar with the 24-style Tai Chi and Pushing Hands.

He practiced during the day, and at night, he would read books, watch videos, and try to understand the information. This way, he naturally improved at a rapid speed.

However, he found that as time passed, the amount of experience gained decreased.

Slowly, Wang An realized that Li Juewen could teach him less. If he wanted to continue improving, he would need to find a new teacher to learn from. It would be best if it was someone proficient in Tai Chi.

On this day, Wang An and Li Juewen started chatting after practicing.

"Wang An, your progress is too fast. I've almost run out of things to teach you."

"Where did you learn Tai Chi?"

"The class I signed up for was in a Tai Chi dojo. The owner of that dojo claimed that he had practiced Tai Chi for fifteen or sixteen years and that he had real martial arts.

"I once saw him knock a 1.8-meter-tall man to the ground with a single strike."

Real martial arts? Wang An was interested.

He asked for the address of the dojo. After leaving the swimming pool in the afternoon, he took a taxi to the dojo.

On the plaque, there were a few large and intimidating words: Yang's Tai Chi Martial Arts Dojo.

He pushed the door open and entered. The walls of the foyer were covered with photos and awards.

After walking through a short corridor, they arrived at a spacious and bright hall. The floor was paved with wooden flooring, and there was fitness equipment by the side of the wall.

Perhaps it was because most people were at work at this time, there were not many people in the martial arts school. When Wang An entered, a man in his thirties came to receive him.

Hearing that he wanted to learn Tai Chi, that person smiled and said, "You've come to the right place. Our dojo is the best Tai Chi dojo in Hu An City. The director is also the vice president of Hu An Tai Chi Association!"

"What about the fees?" Wang An did not beat around the bush.

"Do you have the basics of Tai Chi?"

"A little." Wang An immediately performed a set of Tai Chi.

"Not bad. It seems you have a decent foundation. I suggest you consider enrolling in the advanced class to enhance your learning. In addition to forms, the focus will be on Pushing Hands, routines, and Tai Chi's power-emitting techniques. The tuition fee is two thousand yuan per month."

"If you're still unsure, why not give it a try?" Seeing Wang An's hesitation, the person smiled and said.

"Sure," Wang An hurriedly replied.

This was something he could not have wished for more.

The two of them got into position and put their arms together. Wang An immediately felt a force coming from his arm. It wasn't big, as if someone had gently pushed him.

Wang An hurriedly turned around and drew a circle to dissipate the force before pushing it back.

He did not use his full strength. After pushing his hands, he felt that the person in front of him was indeed proficient in Tai Chi.

[Tai Chi experience +5.]

He gained so much experience just from a little demonstration, so he decisively chose to pay.

During the conversation, Wang An learned that the person in charge of teaching was the eldest disciple of the dojo director. His name was Yang Zan, and he had also practiced Tai Chi for seven to eight years.

Director Yang Xianhua himself would occasionally come to teach them, but he was not usually here.

The time to teach Tai Chi was mainly from 9:00 to 11:00 in the morning and 2:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon. The content of the morning and afternoon classes was the same, so Wang An picked the morning one.

He could also come to the dojo to practice during the dojo opening hours. There was no time limit to how long he could stay, but there may not be a suitable person to guide him.

After paying the money, Wang An did not leave. Instead, he asked the man in charge of answering questions about Tai Chi. The other party had practiced Tai Chi for more than four years and was much more experienced than him.

This person was quite enthusiastic. He taught him the Wuji Stake and gave him some guidance. [Tai Chi experience +5.]

Wang An simply stood in the Tai Chi Dojo and started practicing. He only left when the sky was getting dark.

After returning home, he cooked a nutritious dinner and rested by reading.

The next morning, he arrived at the park early and started practicing strikes from the Wuji Stake position.

Spreading his legs apart, he exerted strength under his feet, relaxed his shoulders, and lowered his waist while calming his mind.

Suddenly, he felt his back straighten. A strange feeling went from his tailbone to his spine and straight to his head, as if he had been shocked.

He was stunned.

[Tai Chi experience +30.]

The sudden notification made him realize that he had accidentally used Tai Chi qi.

The qi and strength were connected like lightning.

Quickly seizing the opportunity while the feeling was fresh, he let the force generate from both feet, his spine straight like a dragon, and the power flowed from his legs upward while coiling into a unified force. Li Juewen came to the park and saw Wang An standing still. He did not disturb him and was about to practice at the side.

Upon closer inspection, he felt that his stance was slightly different from before. There was a hint of strength to it. He had once seen this strength in the director of the Tai Chi Dojo.

Wang An let out a long sigh of relief.

"An, you're excellent!"

"I don't know why, but I suddenly discovered this feeling," Wang An said with a smile.

[Tai Chi experience +15.]

In just half an hour, he had gained more experience than he had in the past few days.

He had practiced diligently every day and continued to learn, comprehend, and summarize. It was only right for him to gain something.
